Gamestop Trade-In

Post » Wed Dec 07, 2011 7:51 pm

You'll get $80.00 at Best Buy.

Yeah, I've been doing the math for awhile now. I'd get about nine dollars less at Best Buy if I managed to get that 30% bonus at Gamestop. Thinking I'll throw a few more games I can bare to part with onto the list and see how much that gives me on both sides. I also have a PS2 and PS3 that I don't use to sell just in case.

Btdubbs, thanks for spending the time to find all that.

Good Luck

I want to sell my games BUT thing is Id want to do it at gamestop, but I only have a few 360 games that I don't want to part with yet and the rest would get me pennies to the dollar, the rest of my games are like 2 PS3 games and rest is last gen stuff that they don't take anymore

I have a friend that trades in his games a lot, and he usually goes to http://www.entertainmart.com/. It's probably not very likely that they'd have one near you, but if there is, apparently they pay really good for used stuff.

If you pre-order any game at Best Buy (5$) when you trade in the games, they will give you an extra 40% trade in credit. Go to http://www.bestbuytradein.com/ and click video games, then on the upper right click on in store promotions.

I've never pre-ordered before. I thought you had to pay whatever the game was worth plus $5 up front; then you pick it up on release date. Like I said, I'm flat broke AtM. Maybe I would be able to weasel five bucks out of one of my friends but definitely not sixty-five.

Huh?
When you preorder a game, you just put at least 5 dollars down. That's the general minimum accepted amount for pre ordering. When the game comes out, you pay the rest of the cost minus the 5 dollars. So if you put 5 bucks down 3 months before Skyrim comes out, you pay 55 on 11-11-11 when you pick it up.

Does the above list represent what I would get from Best Buy? I'm confused about...

If you pre-order any game at Best Buy (5$) when you trade in the games, they will give you an extra 40% trade in credit.

Credit as in paying you an extra 40% to the price of your games? Sorry if I seem like I'm tugging at the forum's pants here; I just want to be absolutely sure of what I'm doing when it comes to these kinds of things. The closest Best Buy from here is one town over. That's a lot of gas money if I have to make two trips.

If you have a PS3, why don't you just buy Skyrim for it? Why go through all the trouble of repairing your Xbox?

I didnt read all the posts but I know at Game Stop you get 30% extra right now if you trade games in for preorders. I had Black Ops, MW2, Dragon Age 1&2, and some Air Assault game and got over 70 dollars credit torwards my preorders. You should get quite a bit more for all the games that you have.

I bought it about three years ago from a friend but never even plugged it in. Not even sure if it works still.

Why go through all the trouble of repairing your Xbox?

I'd rather play Skyrim on an Xbox controller and I have to get it fixed sooner or later anyway.

Yeah, it came out to around eighty-nine dollars. I need one-hundred-sixty so I put more games on my list and looked up the prices for each individual one for both Best Buy and Gamestop. Best Buy offers $20 more so that's where I'm going to sell them.
