"No thanks, but do you have a sister?"

The above response was to a gay guy who approached me. I'm straight though, and wasnt aware I gave off any indications otherwise.

Please note that any (hypothetical) insult would have been directed to myself as well. Been a member here for many years, never reset my password after that crap went down couple months back, lost email access, long story.

When someone I didn't fancy (but did like in a platonic way) asked me out for a drink, I said yes, but only as friends as I wasn't interested in dating. Then I told them to text/email or whatever for when they're free, so if they're not interested in being friends they didn't have to waste their time.
I've never had someone I straight up didn't like at all ask me out, so I don't know about that one.

Fake your own death and, if the person sees you again, pretend you're a ghost.

Foolproof.

That sounds like way too much work for something you don't wanna do!

As for me, I just say I don't want to go or I'm too busy. But I don't go on dates anyways.

"She turned me into a newt!

... but I got better."

Wasn't that Grange Hill?

Oh God, did you have to remind me of that bloody awful thing? :sadvaultboy:

Just curious as to what excuses you have used to get out of a date with someone you didn't really like?

For me, the only excuse I have ever used is "I am going to be busy."

Also, what is the craziest excuse that has been used on you?

Well, once I asked a girl to go watch a game with me, her response was "I am really tired." I asked her on a Tuesday, the game was on Friday.

EDIT: I am not asking for advice on anything.

Well once I took a girl out, and after the fact I she said I had done some things wrong she did not like, but would not tell me what.

I used some sneaky underhanded means of finding out what it was, and it turns out she thought I was too "nerdy" because I had a DVD player/sound system in my truck and had done a lot of custom things to it. Instead of telling me the truth she had just lied to me and told me it was her parents idea. (She was 21)

other than that, nothing major.

ok, so I'm still a little confused here..

no surprise :P

If you don't find the woman attractive, but she's nice enough, pleasant to be around, that kind of thing, then say so. <-- that you have more of a brother/sister feeling for her.

There isn't a woman on the planet who won't appreciate this, since you've basically just stated that you want to be there for them like a brother would for his little sis.

And if you just don't like the woman period, them my previous post still stands --> why is she even asking you out?

Is she dim?

Did you lead her on? (because then frankly; you screwed up, you burn.)

Three seconds. I managed three seconds of that before the memories of the full horror kicked in and I couldn't bear any more. Just say no indeed.

This has nothing to do with me, or any situations that I may be going through at the moment.

I just wanted to hear a few rejection stories.

The first question was pointed mainly toward women, while the second question was pointed toward men.
