My PC has windows 7, at times I like it and sometime I hate it but it has been a decent software---better then Vista I think.

Just upgraded my main PC to Windows 7 skipping Vista entirely. I still have an older PC (Athlon64 single core) that'll continue with XP indefinitely. As far as Win 7 goes - a few good points but all in all, color me not particularly impressed. If I could have gotten DX11 on XP I wouldn't have switched. ;)

New PC I built has Win 7.

The bootcamp install on my iMac is Win XP, and is going to stay that way.... no reason to upgrade it, since I have the new PC. I'll keep it around until that iMac gets replaced, in case I need to run anything that really wants actual Win XP.

The local library here uses Windows 7, my school uses Windows 7, my PC uses Windows 7...The only exception being my laptop, which runs Ubuntu.

I'm perfectly content with XP.
To echo Suffca, I probably won't change until I have to.

I went to art school. All mac. High end video work is almost done exclusivly on macs. I also have a pc at home running xp. I've tried vista and 7 but other then visually, very dissapointed and seems like a step back in many ways. I'll always use a mac over pc as far as my main computer. There is a chance though I'll build a gaming only pc in the next few years.

^ I've been thinking about doing this with my pc as well. I just believe Microsoft just is not user friendly.

Tried to put XP on my current computer, but couldn't. Can't afford Win7 right now, so I'm using linux in the meantime. I'd still be using XP if I could afford it though...

I have 2 desktops at home and both still run XP. I will likely upgrade my PC to Win 7 relatively soon, maybe this year. The kids don't do much more than visit Facebook and use Google docs for homework so I probably won't upgrade that one before I absolutely have to.

No PCs at work so that part is irrelevant.

What is the significance of April 8, 2014?

EDIT: Reminds me, off to the Tech thread.

MS drops all support for XP.

Yup, and April 9th, 2014 is the day all networked XP computers will be infected with a worm through an unpatched security hole that will create the world's biggest botnet.

Though by 2013 you probably won't be able to use new hardware with XP as driver support will be nonexistent for new hardware and XP by then. Antivirus support will also go away by 2014 making it all the more vulnerable.

Shame to see so many people planning to use Vista Basic/Premium/Ultimate after its support ends. They will be the first to be sacrificed to Cthulhu.

Using EOL Windows with any sort of interaction with external data (networked, USB drives) is like running around naked through a forest of poison ivy where the leaves are edged with razors.

I'm still using XP on my desktop. Probably won't switch until I'm forced to.

Home desktop is XP. Personal laptop is Win7.

Work is now Win7; considering the hassles that happen with the programs I have to use every time they update software, I am so very very happy they didn't attempt Vista. It took long enough to get things working with Win7, and they still haven't figured out the printer problem. They came up with a work-around, but it would be nice to have access to the system printer that Win7 recognizes.

All of the PCs in my house are running Windows 7 64-bit. My rig runs Win7 Professional, and my girlfriend's laptop uses Win7 Home. Her desktop still has Vista, but it isn't being used right now so it doesn't really count. :D

I started using Win 7 64 bit in November 2009. My mum's computer uses XP though.

I run XP and plan to migrate over during the first part of 2012 or so once I get my new processor and motherboard and probably another hard drive. I've never ran Vista and don't plan to. My university's computers have used Windows 7 since it came out.

Edit: Thankfully, the switch will be free thanks to my university's free software program thing with Microsoft.
