"canceling my pre-order" is just a meme. It has a life of it's own. Just disregard it.

O_O

I... Know... As I've said like 4 times now, there is a small percentage of people that are completely serious. Beleive it or not, some people on the internet [censored], purely for the sake of [censored]ing.

I know how the internet works lol. Twas long ago when I was a young child who did not know of things such as trolling or haters.
As I've said, some people are completely serious. Their mind is set that they will hate the game so they do things like that. Then they end up playing it and being all, "Oh god it's so cool! Wish I didn't cancel my pre-order!'

Again, seen it happen before my very eyes.

Lol, really? TBH unless i knew some one had a legit reason to just be unhappy (which any real TES fan shouldnt ever be) i dont think i could take them seriously. I mean, i RARELY pre-order, because i know most games are garbage and deserve to be scrutinized before i spend my hard earned cash on it. If some one ended up with the same skeptical feeling and called their pre-order off, i can see that.

But, 99.9% of the time its like "WAAAH! WHERE THE **** ARE THE HORKER PIX!!!" or "WAAAH! NO hardcoe MODE!!!" then its all "ZOMFQ DUDE IMA CANCEL CUZ OF THIS UNLESS THY FIXES IT!!!" or something along the lines of that...

i never preorder games, but i am not buying skyrim.

its not about attention or trying to stirr things up. imo, i dislike all of the new content they announced and took out a few things that i cared about. skyrim just isn't for me. which is a shame because i got so excited for it too.

I've done it many times at either Amazon or GameStop. I usually do it if I'm low on money or I can find a better deal else where.

Lol, its something i made up a while back. I duno when/why i started using ofmq but i did. Same with ZOMG, but i just ended up slapping it all together in the epitome of all OMG's, and hence ZOMFQ was born. Not to be mistaken with ZOMFQWTFBBQSAUCE which is in a hole other class of its own...

I also believed that i invented Awesomesauce? but eventually discovered it had already been around.

Thats too bad man. Should at least give it a whirl at some point. I mean, every game has its ups and down. I LOVED the surreal landscape and environment of Morrowind, and was sorely disappointed that oblivion had such a more realistic outlook. Obviously, you cant depict how hyped i was (and rightly so) about Shivering Isles, but the combat mechanics of Oblivion made it the most perfect game i could have wished for. Seriously, for the LONGEST time i thought that morrowind was glitched / broken because i'd only sometimes hit them. I thought i was doing something wrong...

*SWISH! SWISH! SWISH! CLINK! SWISH!*

Then i eventually command boxed my blade skill to max, when i found that was the issue, and the game was so much more enjoyable. Then Oblivion happened. I'd have liked my skills to have a greater effect on my efficiency, but over all i was okay with it. I think skyrim this round will fix that, although there are certain things i'm again going to miss, like attributes, skills for each weapon group (biggest draw back, no weapon specializations), but then again, perks are going to be very interesting to see how they work out.

I only pre-order games if I actually want the limited edition of a game for some reason. I'll buy Skyrim if it's good, but not until I get some post-release feedback about it. I pre-ordered the collector's edition of Oblivion after being a fan of the TES series since '94 and was really disappointed. Won't be doing that again.

I think they assume (wrongly) that anyone actually gives a toss.

Like that kid you used to play with that would get mad and announce that he/she was taking his/her toys and going home...and everyone else would look up for a second, shrug, and go back to playing.

I can think of a reason. One that I actually considered doing this past week after the release of BF3 (which I still have not played.)

Pre-ordering a game without knowing its specs; this is especially true for PC games. Case in point, I pre-ordered both Battlefield 3 and Skyrim for PC. I picked up BF3, on release and to my dismay found out it will not run on my rig. Which led me to check the recommended settings for Skyrim, which my rig also does not meet. I being more pissed off at myself considered driving to Gamestop to cancel my pre-order. But, I didn't and opted to rebuild my rig to meet both specs for BF3 and Skyrim.

My new mobo and proc will be here today and I will begin ordering the rest of my parts in the coming weeks. Hopefully it'll be done before my "Physical Warfare Voucher" for BF3 expires in December.

It messes with cashflow and budgeting. Most game studios only make money once every few years. Pre-orders take the edge off. If nobody pre-orders a game, it'll really put the screws to the devs.

Also: it's the witchiest of whiny witch moves, and the internet is all about extremes.

It could be because they've decided to wait for the price to go down (for whatever reason), or they've found a better deal elsewhere.
I've heard one person cancelled because they realised there was a midnight opening near them, and wanted to go to that instead.

But I'd say it's probably just down to people realising that money might be a bit tight (recession, close to Christmas) and if they're not too fussed about playing it immediately because of content/design decisions then they might as well wait for a price drop, or even a cheap GOTY version if they're really patient.

You pre-order out of hope. What you see between then and release discourages you. So to avoid paying full price for a game at release with no real review, you cancel your pre-order. While pre-ordering doesn't cost extra, neither does waiting a few days to get it.

Why cancel the pre-order if you're still buying the game? Pre-ordering costs NO extra money. You're still spending the same amount, but you're getting more stuff. Put $5 down and then pay off the rest of the game = Pre-oreder. What's the purpose? Is it like some kind of insult to say "I'm not pre-ordering but I'll sure as hell buy it anyway."

I can't speak for others as I don't pre-order, BUT....

1. The pre-order price doesn't save you anything in cost...only the hope of some cool extras you could hold onto as a collectible item(s).

2. If the game is going to be a disappointment but still playable...wait a few months after it's release and pick it up on half.com or eBay for below full retail price.

I want to cancel mine, I have multiple reasons.

1. Its cheaper to buy in the future.
2. Other games coming out I will are more about (kingdoms of amalur).
3. I dislike things I have learned since pre ordering skyrim: combat looks like oblivions, romance (shouldnt be in), reduced skills, duel wielding swords makes you unable to block, boring perks, etc. It looks like oblivion, but inspired by some of falliut 3 and they caved to adding romance. Perks could have been good, but I remember reading that leaked list. Disapointing as hell.
4. Inevitable GoTY with dlc.
5. Bug fixes.

Besides I still have other games to check out, Rage is falling in price nicely. Still need to fix my wii and buy okami.

complaining about the completely optional romance in Skyrim is like complaining about Fast Travel. YOU DON'T HAVE TO USE IT.

Also you don't know all the perks, why are you complaining about something you don't know?

People like you Ratslayer make me sad to be a gamer, LETS COMPLAIN ABOUT THINGS WE DON'T FULLY KNOW ABOUT.

Complaining about a feature that was a waste pf resurces. How dare I.

So it just happens all the ones I do know svcked ? Right. Bethesda had dull perks in fallout 3, now its in skyrim. (also stop mixing IPs, its like that bloody wheel in dragon age)

People like you make me sad. Mainly becuase of your overthe top reaction. I bet you have never made a choice about a game before playing it. Oh wait you have.
Otherwise you would be very poor and playing mindjack or some [censored].
Also the sad to be a gamer part, cry me a river. Its like the people who say they loose faith in humanity when they hear about some guy robbing some sick/old people. Only more pathetic becuase games are less important.
