RAGE, I bought it, I finished it, I loved it.

I wonder if having SolidStateDrive instead of normal HDD would make a difference with texture loading?

I've heard it makes a huge difference. Expensive though.

has anyone tried saving hte game to a USB jump drive as opposed to HDD?
I may. I am not sure if it will work better or not, but it hosuld help me get around HDD size contraints.

we should be able to choose what faction we want to fight/work for... resistance or authority.

Like Brink? . . . . Pleeeez no.

The entire time playing Rage I was thinking I would rather side with Authority, and why do you even mention Brink, it has no campaign whatsoever...this aspect really shows how Fallout New Vegas is light years ahead of all games.

Fallout New Vegas + Rage engine/animation system = perfect game

Simply because in Brink you can choose either the Resistance or the Authority. . . unfortunately the game is highly unplayable in many ways and for many reasons, so it was kind of a joke, get it?

And your evidence that they arent trying to use ark survivors for no good is.......?
Considering the propaganda the Authroity it self uses when they occupy Wellsprings, its not hard to draw the conclustion that they are a totalitarian faction (not to mention the devs characterizing them as such, prior to game launch), which isn't really looking to help anyone other than themselves. Further evidence would be not just the resistance, but all you encounter saying that the Authority will pay good money to sell out ARK survivors. Then there's the shutting businesses down in Wellprings..

Aside from that, the Aruthority is actually enginering mutants as seen first hand in Captial Prime, you know- which would be completely un-neccessary for a benevolent faction to do.
It doesnt take much to put together that the mutants are- up until discovering "super" mutants (heh) which are more mikely to be utilized as actual sodiers - just a diversion to keep normal people occupied, so they can't trully rebuild society and fourish.

propaganda is fun like that....

i still would like to ask, why do you know the resistance are out for the good? cuz your told by the 'locals'? there poor and have nothing. maybe they are sick of having nothing and want to take what the authority have? (like resources??) its like if you woke from a coma and bank robbers convinced you they were good and the cops were evil, and then used you to help fight for their freedom.

think of the authority as lets say' america' and the resistance as lets say 'iran'. authority is technically advance with resources and the resistance are just rebels. who knows who's up to what really, its left 'in the air' really.

Simply put, RAGE was just an all around enjoyable experience. I've played through the single player twice, and both times I had a blast. The art style is absolutely beautiful. Some of the set pieces were so amazing, I found myself staring at a cave wall amazed at how many different colors they used. The ending was definitely weak. It was by far the most disappointing part about the game. After having so many "oh, sh*t!" moments throughout the game, I felt more let down than a kid waking up to no presents on Christmas morning. The gunplay was awesome. The guns themselves were awesome. The card game (all the minigames) are fun as hell. All in all RAGE was just a very fun game. Looking forward to the sequel as well as DLC!

Anything coming from the authority was all hearsay as you never spoke with authority, you only shot at them. One of the many things the game was missing... being kidnapped by the authority.. speak with them... escape from their jail. I hope I'm not writing the DLC for them ;)

I would ask you what makes you think the Authority is America: in our scenario.

I aill point out one last time that in the town of wellsprings, the authority straight up tells that city's population that they are only alive because the authority allows them to be, so they had better turn over the protagonist.
Sorry, but that's not America, that's an oppressive totalitarian pseudo-government.

and it isnt just the resistance that tells you the Authority is up to no good.
Pretty much every NPC points that out. Iw ill trust what is in game over random internet speculation any day of the week.

point blank, if you want to prove that the authority are somehow misunderstood good guys, the burden of proof is upon you to do so. good luck with it.
I know some on these forums like to romance the enclave from the fallout series as patriots... they at least have a leg to stand on in their argument. there is no such luxury here.

still every npc are still 'locals' and the authority is occupying there space, of course a foreign power is unwelcome....

i just question everything and look at all different sides to all stories. i deferentially don't believe everything im told.

still doesn't refute the Authroity coming into Wellspring saying the only reason anyone as "allowed" to live is because the authority let's them.
this is, once again, not somthing that a benevolent faction says.

I've read the comic books and the novel before playing the game. When I first read the novel I thought it was a complete spoiler for the game, but it turned out to be a good idea to read it because it explains the background of the authority. I would have loved to see a showdown with general cross at the end, but from the novel I already expected that this wouldn't happen. Maybe in Rage 2...

I finished the SP and tried the co-op multi-player mode yesterday. It's pretty cool but it's a bit sad the racing part of the multi-player has basically no players.

What platform are you playing it on? on the 360 i never have to wait more than 12-15 seconds to join a game and there is always loads of people playing.
