Personally, I love Dragon Age: Origins but I understand that people who are partial to sandbox games may not find it as appealing.

There are very few games with stories, lore, characters, dialogue, setting and depth as rich as Dragon Age: Origins'...actually in my personal opinion there aren't any, but that's just me.

Personally, I think mass effect and Alpha protocol and a few other recent games were just as good.

Really? The characters and dialogue are great, definitely, but I found the story to be incredibly bland, cliché and horribly predictable. Not Bethesda-bad, but much less impressive than Bioware's stories used to be. The reason I loved Dragon Age was for the levelling and combat systems, much better imo than what you usually see in 'RPGs' these days.

To me, BioWare's hasn't had a good overall story since KOTOR. However their character development is always precise and beautiful. I ? Morrigan.

I thought it was the best game ever. The game had amazing DLC and an awesome Expansion! Once you become use to the combat mechanics it can be really fun. I never had to though. I loved it from the start and every star there was. Played every race, every class did every thing.

I guess it depends on what you were expecting. If you were expecting TES-like combat or open world exploration you're not going to get that with Dragon Age. The story and its presentation are good though.

As long as his friend doesn't recommend the game that shall not be named.
