Indeed. I still don't expect them to make the playoffs, but I do like what I see. The fans... energetic yes but quite arrogant unfortunately. Every call against us is a "bad call" and everyone always try's to chant the goalies name to throw him off. I've seen other NHL hockey before, and I can safely say I've never seen a stupider crowd before.
If I were actually over there in the 'peg I'd probably not have noticed this, would have been too in a drunk frenzy over getting an NHL team back, but I definitely see your point.

About the discussion of booing, I've always enjoyed boobirds, because as supposedly immature as it sounds, it denotes passionate fans. As someone who frequently watches Red Wing games, there's nothing more deflating than seeing on TV an arena full of largely passive/apathetic fans like those that show up at the Joe Louis Arena.
The biggest booing in recent memory I can think of that, while not making much sense, I enjoyed, was the Rob Blake boobirds in Los Angeles, Brad Marchand boobirds in Montreal, Sergei Fedorov boobirds in Detroit, Todd Bertuzzi's boobirds at Colorado and Vancouver, Sidney Crosby's boobirds in Philly, PK Subban's boobirds also in Philly, Daniel Alfredsson's boobirds in Toronto, Chris Pronger's boobirds in Edmonton (and other places), Paul Kariya's/Teemu Selanne's boobirds in Anaheim (when with Colorado, and also Selanne with San Jose), and of course Patrice Brisebois' own Habs fans booing him at the Bell Centre for all those years.
I'm a big boobird supporter.
