how many sniper rifles are on brink : Othor Games

why does everyone compare sniper rifles and OHK to COD mostly? There are sniper rifles in almost all games which give OHK...... Unreal Tournament~ "HEADSHOT!"

Mostly becuase we have become overly sensitive to it.

95% of the people who come here and complain about "snipers" not killing people in one hit are coming from CoD and that Brink should have OHK snipers because thats how CoD did it and CoD is awesome. It has gotten to the point that the members here have been conditioned to start snarling the moment anyone says "sniper" instead of "long rifle" or "light rifle" :tongue:

THIS. Don't get me wrong - COD is probably my favourite gaming franchise, but BRINK IS NOT COD!, and it should not be expected to be.

Aight, some might say it is ''a light rifle'', ''a short rifle'' and ''not a sniper'' - but seriously guys, it is a damn sniper no matter how you put it in the end of the day

People will call it sniper in-game when they talk, unless there is some weird-ass [censored] going on

It's two sniper rifles that does not act like the Call of Duty or Battlefield snipers, they do not one hit, but they deal a [censored]load of damage

Yeah, its much easier to just tell people that snipers take 2 shots to kill most opponents in Brink.

That description only takes one sentence, instead of the paragraphs it takes to say that Brink has long rifles which are like snipers except the devs are really against anything that ruins the games for others...yadda yadda yadda.

Two "Long rifles". They are not sniper rifles because they do not snipe.

You have the Dragnov Long Rifle. No Headshot instant kills, but two shots to anyone will incap them. Three shots for a Heavy. Fast firing at 3 shots a second.

You have the Barnett Long Rifle. Still no Headshot instant kills, UNLESS you headshot a Light. Two shots to the body will incap anyone. A Barnett bullet is the strongest single shot in the game, however, the Barnett is a bolt-action rifle and takes two seconds between each shot.

Do you lose your sight picture when chambering the next round? This is to say does the rifle leave your shoulder to chamber then re-shoulder it. Sounds like there is only one bolt action in the game.

as everyone said, 2 Long Rifles and no OHK.
'sniping' in brink is for support, not killing. if you want to 'snipe' go ahead, but remeber, you will not be racking up kills (which give very little xp anyway), but you will be using your precision and range to suppress or flush out enemies, allowing your team to succeed.

and that is why i wanted to know this i dont worry much about kills but i want to be an important element to my team and if i get a kill good for me but it doesnt matter if i get fifty kills and still lose or if i get no kills but win as long as i had fun playing

Do you know what happens when you throw a scope on to a "Long rifle"?
It becomes a sniper rifle, all be it a somewhat low damage one, nonetheless, a sniper rifle.
