Games you consider "Must Plays"

Post » Fri May 04, 2012 4:31 am

Super Mario Brothers - In some ways I prefer its simplicity over SMB3.
The Legend of Zelda - Awesome sauce.
DOOM - It's sort of like mario but with shotguns and demons.
System Shock 2 - THAT'S cyberpunk. Deus Ex can shove it.
Starcraft - YOU MUST CONSTRUCT ADDITIONAL PYLONS
Majora's Mask - The first zelda was awesome, but MM was of a whole other caliber.
Morrowind - The ending of the words is ALMSIVI.

RISK. It's a board game. Very fun with 3-5 buddies.

...oh wait, you meant video games. Um...hm.
Older stuff: Might and Magic 6 and 7, Caesar3, Lords of the Realm2. And some of others ppl already mentioned.
Newer stuff: Kotor1/2. FNV. That's it. Lots of newer games have been great fun and I liked them immensely, but I still wouldn't consider them "musts" for all.

Finally! I've been waiting for someone to post KOTOR.
I'm also really glad Fallout has received the love I failed to give it.

Keep em coming I've got some great suggestions!! If I get really, REALLY bored at work (impossible, but who knows) I might even summarize this all into a big ole list. After all, that was the entire reason I made this topic.

For indie games, I'd consider Bastion a must play.

On youtube I'm watching a http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a9Pz0WZN2jc of Fahrenheit (Indigo Prophecy). It's pretty nuts and probably something that needs to be experienced one way or the other. It's a bit like Heavy Rain. I'm sticking to the video series.

If there's one Fahrenheit video that's definitely worth watching, it's http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NIFTniczV28

There is this game you may have heard of, http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/subgames/rob-swigarts-portal-1986-reborn Never played it as I never had any such luck with punchcards.

Morrowind, for obvious reasons.
Deus Ex for it's story and accommodations of different playstyles.
Team Fortress 2
Half Life 2
Portal
Bioshock
Red Dead Redemption

EDIT: You know what? Everything Valve does is a must-play.
