A game like minecraft, where you build and stuff, with lots of monsters that can break junk, and with skyrim-esque graphics.

If I say that I want an MLP open world rpg, am I a bad person?

Star Wars would be nice, or warhammer.
Star Wars had a good Open Planet RPG until the jerks offs at SONY ripped it apart and completely destroyed the core gameplay and combat. One example is they went from 30+ professions to now 6 or 7 generic ones. Star Wars Galaxies was probably the best MMO my wife and I played till as we say Sony murdered the game. Now it is just another lame cheap MMO. Another good one was Tabula Rasa until they shut it down and never patched or added anything to it. IMO the guy who started the game was only in it to get the money to pay to ride the space shuttle. Soon after he took his little ride they closed the game and stopped running it. Because there werent any funds left to fix the problems.

Minesweeper

Wait, what?

Pirates of the Caribbean, Treasure Island, any franchise that has to do with a huge open world of pirates, real time sailing, naval battles, uncharted islands with hidden treasures, trade routes, etc...

I think a pirate game would be really good. I'm sure it was mentioned in another thread around here not long ago.

Harry Potter could be good- locations like Hogwarts, Diagon Alley, Hogsmeade, the Forbidden Forest etc.

Nope---not at all .

Wouldn't that be a little linear;
[Evil monster appeared]
[Fight it] [Behead it] [Befriend it]
You'd be trapped with goodie-two-shoes options all the time

If Bethesda made "X"... I imagine it would involve a lot of black lights and electronica.

Single player Lord of the Rings open-world RPG.
Single player Star Wars open-world RPG.
In Time open-world RPG without Justin Timberlakes involvement
Discworld open-world RPG
Dragonlance open-world RPG
Raymond E. Feist Riftwar open-world RPG

I can't understand why no-one has snapped up Dragonlance for an RPG actually, it's got multiple factions, multiple races, huge amounts of lore and a huge amount unique characters.

What if Bethesda made a pirate game in the beautiful world of the Caribbean Sea?

@ryan snook in reply to the copy right thing, why would Beth spend all that money buying the rights when they have TES and Fallout which will end up making more money due to less copy right buying.

However I would too like to see this. There has been a oblivion/skyrim mod devolping for years now creating LOTR.

I'd be interested to see them do a follow up to Skynet and Future Shock. Just not in gamebryo.
