Well consider that with the rate of Expansion pack release we will probably see expansion packs coming out for another year and half and the current console versions don't sport the high end HD texture pack so there is already graphic improvement available.
Adding shine to paint will only make it shine harder..
Let me explain that one: Skyrim, great as it looks, as well as most multi platform titles have been built to accomedate current gen consoles. This means while the PC version can look great and is capable of more.. it is still based on current gen, outdated tech..
New consoles will be able to compete with what current PC's are capable off.
Rereleasing it will cost money... new consoles are expensive.. at start up.. and since people can mod the game on PC's, the core audience will still play the game on older consoles..
Also that is not exactly true. We have gotten a few sneak peeks at the consoles through rumors and patents. PS4 (code named Orbis) is going AMD on the graphic chips and will be the more gamer console while Microsoft is moving away from the core gamer market and making their console more a multimedia platform to capture the mainstream audience.
Both (except for the AMD news) are rumors... Them claiming not releasing info at E3 as of now is fact... (as far as claims by press offices can be interpreted as fact)
Also Bethesda has the specs. They placed an add for someone to work on a next gen RPG.
I think there is a bit more chance of this happening than credit is being given.
Developmen takes time.. they may have a dev-console but that dev-kit will not be the consumer version. Pre release dev-kits are like betatests.. A software company can start development but tweaking will still be needed..
Skyrim being re-released is still unlikely
