One advantage archers have over warriors is that they don't really need stamina, once you're one-shotting everything it only takes a little bit of bullet time to make everything dead. So you can invest everything into health and become nearly invincible. Their non-stealth dps isn't as high though (no power attacks), so they have a little bit more of a chance of dying from the really tough enemies, particularly dragons that can't really be sneaked up on. But, they're attacking at range, so the target might still be dead before it can close to melee distance. I'm having more fun with my overpowered archer though than my overpowered dual wielding warrior, mostly because of the extra amount of skill required to hit things with a bow. Though I guess if I restricted myself to those sprinting critical strikes with my warrior there'd be some skill required, those can be tough to pull off. Haven't played more than about half an hour with my mage yet.

This topic is like asking "Is it easier to shoot fish in a barrel with a shotgun or a rocketlauncher?"

To which the comparative mindset would think a rocket launcher does more damage than a shotgun... so the rocketlauncher is the winner! But... the LOGICAL mindset would look at it objectively and see that you're shooting fish in a freaking barrel... its easy no matter which tool of excessive carnage you use.

To dice it all it up though its all pretty much situational.
In a wide open room full of multiple enemies? Bow is going to win cause they can one shot things and not have to waste time running from target to target while doing damage from a safe distance.
Got a bunch of guys in your face all at once? 2H is going to win with the ability to hit multiple enemies with one swing.
Want to kill something one on one? Duel wield is pretty much king at taking down individual targets.

Of course offense is not all that matters. Sure with a strong offense you can offset the need for a strong defense but the vice versa can be true. Sword and boarders and mages might not do top tier damage but its more than enough to get the job done and they have the advantage of utility and can adapt to more situations than the purely offensive means above.

warrior/mage hybrid with block, conjuration, 1h weapons, smithing, enchanting and alchemy.

use shield sprint to knock enemies down, wail on them with your 1h weapon while they're on the ground. Summon a dremora or 2 if you get lazy.

Stealth Assassin with Enchanting/Smithing maxed is pretty overpowering. I refuse to go down that route with my assassin, would take all the fun out of it.
