Dovahkiin's best friend

I had a neat experience while playing Skyrim the other night. This is my first TES game, but I have played other rpgs. I just wanted to share this with the community. I have alittle over 100 hours in now and I was just exploring around at night, taking a break from doing "fetch" jobs for random people lol when I came across a stray dog on the road. Now I didn't talk to the dog or anything I merely ran up to him to check him out. So I say to myself "cool, a random dog" and continue down the road. I look back after I hear something walking and the dog is following me. I didn't really think to much about it until I decided to check out a cave and the dog followed me. At this point I'm kinda wondering what he is doing, but I just continue exploring. Anything that I come across and engage in battle in, the dog helps me. Bandits, Dragur, Spiders, etc. It doesn't matter what I am fighting this stray dog is right there helping me kill it. We clear out the cave and make an exit. We continue down the path alittle ways and I decided that it was fun to have this guy as my companion....and my friend. I didn't want to keep have him tag along anymore though and noticed that I could tell him to "go back home" so I did. I wished him well and released him. Well he starts walking off and I notice a big camp in the very near distance and the dog starts walking towards it. I follow and get close enough to determine that its a Forsworn camp. The dog just continues to walk up to the camp thinking not much about it I guess. Then all the sudden the Forsworn start attacking him and within a few seconds he is dead. Immediately I am like wtf you douchebags. I then proceed to slaughter every single one of them and I throw most of their bodies into the nearby river. I take my friend to the highest point of the the camp and lay him down. I place and assortment of flowers on his body and take my leave. I really felt his death and it saddened me to see him go out like that. I feel bad for letting him go. Rarely do I get twisted up in a game like that, but with Skyrim is seems easy to do. I am really enjoying this game, hats off to Bethesda. I have experiences a very minor bugs and glitches, but I can easily overlook those.

Anyone else had a similar experience?

:(

I got sad onetime when I saw a giant looking at his dead mammoth. I got right next to the giant and he didn't even do anything. He just looked at me and looked back at his dead mammoth friend. I felt bad so I threw all the flowers I had in my inv around the mammoths body, Then I left.

Same happened with me when I lost Lydia at a certain battle in a very high place. During this extremely long fight she was giving her share of damage and taking her share of blows. It wasn't until the end I notice her lifeless body. Now, she had died before, but a quick reload usually remedied that. This battle took a lot of time and effort for me and I figured she's not going to last forever so she might as well go out like a champ and I let her rest in peace. This particular place has a Dragon wall with a rectangular slab right before it. I laid her to rest on the slab and put her sword at her side. Pretty ace tomb for her. Once in a while I head up to this place for other obligations and the game has yet to remove her corpse.

One time I was fighting a Briarheart and he slew my Eola..Woe now to all those of Hircine and those who would seek war with my coven. Tamriel shall know to fear Namira and the name of her champion, Bastian Aurelius.
