How do you get controls to change and operate correctly?

Post » Mon May 28, 2012 3:28 pm

I'm using the 360 controller and there are a few buttons that work better in different locations (ie Run set to A, Action set to X). That's all well and good, they can be changed, but the menus themselves dont respond correctly now. It keeps telling me to press A to activate things, but neither A nor X work. It's like someone thought it was a good idea to separate key bindings for the game from the menus themselves. It's getting very frustrating. Is there a way to fix this?

Also, is there a way to set magic cycle to D pad up/down and weapons to Dpad left/right. It would just help to keep the two lists separate as they both get pretty long pretty quickly.

Thanks

So is there another thread pertaining to this issue? I'm also having the issue where it tells me B is back but back turns out to actually be "select" on the controller. I'd much prefer to have B be back and A be accept, while having A be run and B be Jump. This seems like an issue that should have never been. I've no clue how something like this ever made it past QC. Or maybe I'm doing something wrong. Either way, I'd really like to know how to fix this. I'm starting to regret spending $60 on a game with huge glaring issues that stare me in the face every time I pretty much do anything with the controller.

On a separate note, is there a mod or something for getting eyefinity to work without having to run external .exe's? The "fixes" on widescreengaming work alright, but it's extremely cumbersome for something that should be supported by the game engine in this day and age of gaming. It's not game breaking, but man, this game would be phenomenal if it inherently supported eyefinity. I'd even pay for a DLC that added eyefinity support as it just adds so much immersion into a world that supports high levels of immersion.

Search yields nothing to do with this issue. Has no one else had a problem with this?

Seriously, no fixes to this game-breaking issue? They'd better work this crud out next patch or I'm going to be pissed. I didn't wait from 3:00 P.M. to 12:00 A.M. for the midnight release of Skyrim--I bought the Collector's Edition 'cuz I wanted to support you guys--just to have this thing collect dust on my shelf because they can't fix a keybinding issue.

Thanks Aether! Here's to hoping gamesas fixes this on an official level, but for now this fix should be sufficient.
