He's been sitting on a mountain for thousands of years staring at rocks, I think he's paid his fine and served his sentence.

Excuse my language but F*** the Blades. How do you kill an ally that was instrumental in overcoming Alduin? The enemy of my enemy is my friend? I don't know... I actually felt bad and could not kill the scaly little guy. Well, maybe not so little but you get the idea.

The blades are like knights and this is their duty. How can they serve the Dragonborn when he is in allegiance with their oldest enemies? There is no right or wrong in this situation. It makes you face your true nature as Dragonborn. Parthurnaax may meditate now, but Odahviing will help you change your mind about it all if you can't decide.

The quest won't appear until after you are given the means to kill Alduin. Typical huh?

The Blades are plot aware or something.

Except they do seem to have a tendency to stall out the whole main quest with a interesting variety of bugs and in two different playthroughs they have bugged out at some point requiring them to be skipped,deleted,reset,etc... just to get things moving again.

From a role playing perspective are illogical as they dont care about the Odahviing.

Would you let a serial killer who murdered hundreds of innocent people live if he helped the army assassinate an evil dictator?

Because you believe in redemption, change, etc...?, Saving everyone else + waiting a couple lifetimes and doing it again is pretty much like having a serial killer self imprison themselves and sit doing anything to help except there is no realistic anolog to saving the world twice by stopping a time traveling bad guy.

Also Odahviing is refering to the Way of the Voice as a tyranny which it is from his POV as it implies being peaceful.

Besides, dragons cant be judged as people, theyre dragons. And as a race they werent really able to grow and develop themselves under Alduins arrogant rule. Paarthunax had alot of time to think and observe mortals and find the value of their lives, i guess he realised that earlier since he betrayed Alduin. But back then they didnt really have much choice but to follow their nature and obey Alduin.
And speaking of Blades, didnt dragonborn give them reason for existance, doesnt their oath also bind them to protect and serve the dragonborn? And i also believe its a question of how one interprets an oath and if it should be followed to the letter at all. I like to believe its just after all the poor blades been through cuz of Thalmor, they want to pour their pain and hate on the dragons, also Delphine is jealous that she didnt get to kill any dragon :D.
