One of the main things I hated about Oblivion was that it felt like I was fighting against the game just to have fun. In Skyrim, the fun comes to me and I don't have to work for it as much. The combat is much improved, specifically the animations and dramatic boss fights, feels like im in a movie. I prefer the landscape and setting in Skyrim also, and this is very subjective but for me I like the rugged appearance and the barbaric representation of combat, the armors, weapons, architecture, the blood etc. Very reminiscent of a Conan film.

I have 3 hard drives, 2 500 gigs and 1 TB so I rarely if ever have the need to delete anything due to room. Having said that I sitll have Oblivion on my hard drive with over 100++ mods listed. After reading this thread decided to log on for old time sake.

Let's just say my Oblivion moment lasted about 20 seconds...back to Skyrim baby!

I quite like Oblivion's saturated colours (guess it comes as no surprise that I liked using Fuji Velvia back when I used to shoot film!) and find Skyrim is far too desaturated, and that's in the colourful bits: some areas are almost completely monochrome.

I've kind of enjoyed Skyrim but it's atmosphere is lacking... something. Can't quite put my finger on it, but Morrowind had an atmosphere, Oblivion had an atmosphere; Skyrim's atmosphere by comparison seems a bit patchy, but I can't quite say exactly what it is that's missing.
