I like Bethesda but...

fable 2 is a great customization and adventure RPG, not a complete sandbox game. You will see mass effect 3 on your system, but the first one is still an xbox exclusive
they called that interactive comic(for me1) in me2 (ps3) a good excuse to never port it to ps3 for shame it was a fun game

Don't be.
This. I was a fan of fable, but Fable 3 pretty much svcked. It did a few things right, but overall was a huge let down.

I dont know why more companies dont copy Bethesda and make quality RPG's for the PS3. Is it because they dont know how? Don't have the talent? They would make sooooo much money. I know the PS3 isn't as technologically powerful as a PC, but I would be more than happy with the PS3's Oblivion graphics and map size.
Large RPGs are very difficult and time-consuming to make. Even with two teams there are 2-3 years between Bethesda releases, which means generally 5-6 years between titles in a series. On other other hand a successful FPS can often upgrade the engine and gameplay and release a new iteration faster and far cheaper.

Since they take more time and are more expensive to make they're much riskier ventures, so it's hard to break into. Sandbox games have become quite popular in the past few years, perhaps one of the developers working on them (like svcker Punch) will try a sandbox RPG in the future.

thanks for the replies. good to know that fable 3 svcks lol

i've heard of mass effect 3 but didn't know it was RPG. i'll check it out.

like i said i didn't like dragon age and dont really like the anime/manga/japanese type RPG's. i know companies dont make RPG's for the PS3 because they are hard to make and a bit of a risk. i just wish more would. if they did a good job then the risk would pay off as i'm sure there are loads of PS3 players out there gagging for more quality RPG's. hasn't Skyrim made 100 gazillion billion dollars? lol

i have the next GTA to look forward to. And i take it Bethesda's next game will be fallout 4? i hope they're not taking a break after working so hard on Skyrim? i need more RPG's! I will have spent over 3000 hours on Skyrim by the time the next Bethesda game comes out lol

if anyone has any other good sandbox RPG's they'd recommend then i'm all ears. i am assuming that WoW can never be ported to PS3 because the PS3 isn't good enough? what about the PS4? when is that coming out?

i hate the it when they take a perfectly good PC game and dumb it down/mess it up for the console. The Sims and Civilization come to mind lol I don't know why i laughed, its not a laughing matter. thanks for the replies.

p.s. what kind of RPG would you like to see on the PS3 if it was created? i'd like on set on an alien world where deformed race(s) lived underground, and the beautiful race(s) lived above ground, and your character was tasked with either wiping out one side (or both) or uniting them so that everyone lived happily everafter. like a Time Machine setting.
