Hi-Rez for about 1 minute

This is really encouraging. I have Vista 32-bit, but it came pre-installed on my PC so I am not sure there is a way to change it to 64-bit without any CD's.

Been playing now for the last couple of days, not a single CTD using both texture ESMs where as before I CTD'd within 60 seconds. So it's definatley the extra 1gb recognized by Windows or something else about the 64-bit O/S that solves the CTD problem.

but of course requires that you completely reinstall windows and programs....

And there's the rub.

I backed up, re-partitioned, fully formatted and re-installed Win7 all in about 30 minutes.

After about 1 hour, had all my apps reinstalled.

Then I spent the next 8 hours downloading all the windows updates. Man that takes FOREVER.

yeah the updates are a pain..

although it goes much faster if you let windows do the updates PRIOR to installing drivers and programs...

I just upgraded from Windows 7 32 bit to Windows 7 64 bit. I am now able to play Skyrim with both texture packs enabled.
