Dogs - A Trusty Companion, even in Death.

He is a Scottish Deerhound.
He's 4 years old, we also have a 3.5 year old female named Lucy, she's about three quarters of his size.

I have had Deerhounds for ever, Oliver and Lucy are our 16th and 17th Deerhounds, and Oliver is the great, great, great, great grandson of our first Deerhound Brynna.
That sounds really cool mate. :D

The barking itself wouldn't bother me(I'm a dog person) but I was wondering if it effects your sneaking.

I love dogs

but

yes, meeko does effect sneaking, plus he charges into combat toooo much giving us away

and

the barking! omg, it does my nut in!

i only use him as a distraction when there are too many powerful baddies :)

If you send them home do they go back where you found them and can you get them again?

Yes. :D

But i wished that when you send them home, they go to your home, since you "adopted" the dog.

I probably won't take a dog companion until there is a mod that makes them essential and able to just live in one of your houses when they are not running around with you. I can kill things with impunity in this game, but if my dog dies, I get upset for an hour.

I would get upset for an entire real life day. lol

But indeed, it's a shame that the Dogs you Buy/Adopt don't go to your home when you tell them that you don't need anymore help. Modders bring it on. :)

My Meeko is in Sovngard after a frought Dragon priest battle. After the priest and his Draugr guards lay broken at my feet I realised Meeko wasn't barking, looking around for him I saw he was dead. I was sad.

It's called Meeko's Shack, it is somewhere northeast of Rorikstead i guess, and southeast of Solitude.

I found a dead man along a road with a dog sitting right by his body. I felt bad since I could not take it with me to my home and give it a place to live.
