How dare you make surrendering the only option to finish a q

I don't think you should always get a choice. One person trying to take on an entire City full of guards just doesn't seem that logical to me.

in most other game, you wouldn't even have the choice to surrender or not

it would be a scripted event, and you would end up in jail, without any way to prevent it

so be happy that it's not like this.

In Dragon Age Origins you could fight Ser Cauthrien or surrender, you had "options". Fighting her is difficult but you can win and move on. Keep in mind Bioware makes superior quality games. I wouldn't hold Bethesda to such a high standard. No offense.

Out of DA, ME & Witcher series, this has got to be the worst quest I've ever seen in a single player game.

DA:O had miles better story/quest than Skyrim, but it's not open world and is story/NPC driven so that's to be expected.

DA:2 actually had on par with Skyrim in my opinion. BioWare really dropped a deuce with DA2. (Pun intended)

on my next playthrough i plan to kil the guards of the jail and get in that way without surrendering as currently the only way in is blocked by a guy who doesn't let you "use" the 2 chains that open the "need a key" doors but i would hope him being dead solves that.

I tried killing the jailors. There is no way to open the door. The quest forces the dragonborn to surrender to lesser guards & very weak jailors.

*Dragonborn hands over all weapons & armor to fat, lazy guards and corrupt jailors*
