So how do we fix this microstutter thing?

There seems to be some confusion going on. Microstutter and the 64Hz bug are distinct issues. http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/radeon-geforce-stutter-crossfire,2995.html manifests on multi-GPU configurations. The stuttering or "hitching" that is experienced in Skyrim, Oblivion and Fallout3 is due to the 64Hz bug exhibited by the Gamebryo engine (and its close relative, the Creation engine).

If I limit my FPS to anything like 60 or 59 for example, my grids and LOD don't load right, they don't change from distant graphics til I'm right in the middle lol. How do people not have this problem??

I'll try limiting with Nvidia inspector this week, see if that works for me.

Hmm, I haven't seen this issue, of course i don't mess with the defaults gridstoload. And i notice framerate fluctuations in the 50s, so I'm sure i'd have run into it if it was effecting me. Sounds svcky :( maybe it has to do with ugrids at 7??

All i know is, I have a hard time focusing on the game without the limiter because of the "skipping" that happens when indoors or walking long distances. My framerate will be at 60, when these stutters happen, sometimes for a brief second I'l see it go from 58-62 then back to 60. I think THIS is the 64Hz bug that everyone is talking about.

No man, default ugridstoload. It's as though limiting my fps throws off the game load timings for me. I ofcourse have vsync on etc. I'll see if my new gpu has stutter, and if it can be fixed with an fps limiter.

I have FPS capped at 59 with NVIDIA inspector and hasn't experienced any weird issues, BUT I STILL stutter though. I think (i'm around 70% sure) that the stutter is because I have a crappy mouse atm because my old (and better) one broke, because it was around the time when I switched mouses that I noticed how bad the stutter was.

I haven't tried the borderless window mod. Is it COMPLETELY borderless, so all you see is the game, not one bit of anything else? If yes, I might consider using it if the stutter doesn't go away after buying a better mouse.

With the SBW mod, you set the resolution in the Skyrim launcher to Windowed mode, then select your res e.g. 1920 x 1080.

Then use SBW.exe to launch the game. It will open in a window, then after a few moments (usually by the time the main menu has loaded) the window will fill the screen perfectly, as though you were running fullscreen.

The only downside is you may lose a couple of fps. Some people get a performance loss in windowed mode.

EDIT: And if you use SKSE like me, SBW.exe will use skse_loader.exe to launch the game :)
