About that 'hidden dwemer questline'..

Post » Fri Jun 01, 2012 6:42 am

I like these forums to be useful, and not filled with drivel such as topics like these. Everything that "rumor" (read: lie) states is false.

"Oh no! Someone disagrees! He must be a troll"

Now, back to discussing the laser minigun. My uncle's half's brother cousin thrice removed saw a post on gamefaqs that it's hidden in the flying city. To get there, you have to cast 4000 Magelight spells on M'aiq the Liar. Discuss?
Now apart from the troll comment OP is very reasonable..and even adresses why he wants to discuss this rumor..
Either: It's there but only two people have found (this fact alone makes it very unlikely that this "hidden quest" exists... so yeh probably a joke/troll/whatever message)
However the other point he makes is that it would make interesting DLC.
You obviously don't agree with the first option.. so why not ease up a little and go with his second option.. Would it make good DLC?

Fleap.... generally I like your posts; you tend to have good info, and make some interesting points. This time though.... there's no reason at all for the OP NOT to post this here since that's pretty much why this forum exists.

And honest.... if you want a better ratio of signal to noise, you probably want one of the other fora....

Thank you!

ANYWAY! I think there are enough posts about what should and what shouldn't be posted here!
Let's get to bashing butts! Aswell as deez nuts!

No but seriously... Let's start discussing the possibility of a future DLC, does it sound possible?

It's great seeing that there are people with an IQ above 2 here!

+1 to you

And THAT is a trolling sort of remark. If you want us to give you the benefit of the doubt, you shouldn't go there. I'm beginning to feel like I need to start saying "do I have to turn this car around?"

As it happens, I don't have any ideas about DLCs because I'm not interested in them myself. I'm really only interested in what the modders provide because past experience shows that modders are FAR better able to make fun stuff as additions/extensions than Beth has ever been. Your thoughts seem like a great idea for a quest mod.

His entire premise is built on "this rumor is correct because I think it would be cool". Well duh. I think a laser minigun would be cool and I'd love to see that in a DLC (no I don't).
Add in the fact that his only response is kindergarten insults, and you have plenty of reasons why this topic shouldn't exist.

Also, I hope that you're not thinking of gamefaqs? :)

Ok, ok, settle down. Back on topic.

Although I have been intrigued and interested by the Dwemer ever since Morrowind, I strongly think that Bethesda, DLC-wise, should focus on the Everyone vs. Thalmor idea.

It was built up in Skyrim so much... and led to a horrible ending... I really think that they should expand upon this.

This kind of reminds me of the infamous "GRD" helmet or whatever it was called on the Reach forums.
Except that actually had official screenshots of the helmet directly from the creators, so it was reasonable for people to spaz out about it. Not to mention the GRD dolls hidden in the CE: A maps.

As for this topic: I can't find any such pedestals, even at that I don't find this topic to be misleading. If the OP was saying that he found this place and was trying to troll all of you then it would be but as it is, this is just a speculation about a possible secret in-game. Even if the foundation started as a rumor or a lie, there's nothing wrong with trying to prove/disprove the theory.

No, i am sorry if my main post made it look that way, i am saying more like ''If this rumor is correct i have a very good idea for a DLC that would make sense''.

And i don't see why me attempting to insult you would lock the thread? I was just posting and idea and here you come arguing, do you really think i would just ''give up''? Of course i am going to try to defend myself... And i admit, i like doing these kind of arguement battles! It trains my english aswell!

Anyway, i don't think we should keep on arguing about this anymore, this thread is about, as i said before, the possibility of a dwemer DLC!
I hope you choose the more mature option and let this all be...

I am glad you think my ideas are good, and i would feel honored IF someone made a quest mod about this(even if i didn't come up with anything ;P).. But since i play on console i'd like it to be DLC :P Hope you don't mind xD

Um. Well, I don't mind I guess. I just think y'all who use consoles ought to get computers instead.... Consoles are limited to games. Computers give you the world.... AND games.

Yep, they did!
But their creations live on! And you actually met a Dwemer in Morrowind, he was in another dimension when all the other ones disappeared!
So it isn't completely impossible that some dwemer might be alive acording to lore!
ANd that dwemer actually says that he isn't completely sure if he is the only one left!

Not if a modder doesn't make it. I won't buy the DLCs - they're not worth the money IMO (as I said, past experience....) even if it's only a couple bucks. I don't mod myself, I've not the skillset, and really I have no interest in GETTING the skillset - it's bad enough I have to keep "going back to school" to keep up with html/css/js etc.

Yeah i get it. Well, i guess you can ask around on the forums once the CK is out, and if it gets ebough attention maybe some modder will do it :P

The whole thing with this for me is, even though there's no Creation Kit for the game yet, people can still unpack the .bsa files and have a good look at the game's assets.

If there really WAS a hidden Dwemer quest line, it wouldn't be very hidden anymore. The game's been pretty well vivisected even with the tools at our disposal here and now.

It's fun to speculate and all, but... the dissected guts lying on the table tell the tale.

I don't really care that much about the Dwemer, I think they should remain a ghost story and source of speculation and mystery. I don't think it would be possible at this point for Beth to come up with anything dwemer related that would live up to the expectations.

As far as Dlc is concerned I wanna go to where ever the Thalmor are from with a full expansion pack. I think it's time to go chop their heads off on their home turf. It would really svck to have to wait for thee next age and the sixth game before seeing this to some conclusion

It might be neat to have a DLC that includes a lost Dwemer city full of Falmer that have been experimenting with Dwemer technology to restore their vision. Return of the Snow Elves, with bulky bronze goggles! Armored Charus, Falmer in Dwemer plate...

Hey! Why don't we introduce some races from Akavir!
Oh! maybe even a Sload!...or even a Maormer!

Oh my god I have the best Idea ever!
We get a DLC to rid of the Dunmers curse and they can become Chimer again! :D
