A friend has the exact same problem.
The stuttering also occurs at settings that work fine for the GTX 560 Ti.
Changing the driver to 300.83 helps, but doesn’t solve the problem completely.
Since the occurrence of the stuttering is unpredictable, it’s difficult to reproduce. So testing different options is time consuming.
At this point the GTX 680 is a downgrade to GTX 560 Ti - GTX 580. More frames per second, but potentially poor quality because of the stuttering.
Advice: if you’re planning to upgrade, wait until this problem is fixed. Hopefully it’s a driver issue, but perhaps there is something fundamentally wrong with the GTX 680.
