Finish the civil war with either side, all you get is a guard wearing a different type of armor in every city and whiterun becoming a mess, finish the DB questline, empire doesn't give a crap and all people do is comment, beat the game...no change really, people still don't recognize me for being almost invincible and a little girl still isn't scared of me even after I beat every questline and am wearing full dwarven armor (I did have daedric but im already above the armor cap with dwarven and I think it looks kewl).
I loved the game but after you beat most of it and people still treat you as a peasant and it doesnt look or feel like you had a big impact on the world even though you've cleared dungeons, killed bandits saved everyone, ect, I feel like I never did any of it.
What are your thoughts?
Oh, AMEN!! Even the songs don't update, for the most part, except for there being a new one about Aduin's defeat. After you kill Ulfrik, they still sing about
when he's finally killed and
when the war is over. He's dead, it's over, have a party already! Don't believe me, go see his dead body still laying at the foot of his throne. Why is that? Why don't they clear his carcass away? Why must the new jarl (actually a very good, decent, fair man, rare for a jarl) be forced to sit with dead Ulfrik on his knees?
Do the townspeople fawn after you've killed Alduin and saved their entire existence? Nope. Do the Imperials, at least, lavish you with praise after you kill Ulfrik? Nope. Nobody seems to notice much, no matter what you do, and that really
svcks!I had high hopes for this game. I loved Oblivion, even though completing the main quest was a let down... I felt your character should've been declared the new ruler as a reward, at the end of Oblivion. With Skyrim, I'd heard rumors your character eventually became the new ruler of the Imperium... some even said you became a new god alongside Talos and The Eight. But, if that's the case, there's not the slightest indication of it, at least not yet. Right now, all I'm hoping for is a bit of acknowledgement and the respect that goes along with my accomplishments. For the most part so far, even those meager emotional rewards are nonexistent.
It seems Bethesda writers truly svck at
closure.
