Duplicating Petty Soul Gems and Where to find Wolves

Post » Sat Jun 02, 2012 12:52 am

Hey guys and gals!

So I want to grind up my enchantment skills.
I have a bound sword ready to capture souls.
I don't want to invest the gold in petty soul gems.

How can I duplicate unfilled petty soul gems?
Where can I find a ton of low level creatures like wolves to fill them as fast as possible?

I'm on XBOX.

Thans in advance! :-)

Mudcrabs are pretty common, and if you find a place called lunds hut there are 6 skeevers around there, 4 outside 2 inside.

As for duping, I'm afraid there is none in skyrim =( I miss it so much from oblivion though, as I'm on console I can't just do it myself through commands, and duping stuff added 300 hours of gameplay to me in Oblvion as I just messed about.

But oh well.

most dwenmer (dwarven) ruins have machines in them that have soul gems in thier loot.

Another idea is if you go enough throught the MQ you'll end up going to somewhere called blackreach, there are rocks there that can be mined for soul gems, strangely.

Petty soul gems are pretty much everywhere. Check around the ruins and caves.

Not very helpful. Anyone else have any ideas on where to find a bunch of PCGs? I need like 100.

college of winterhold. hall of countenance. go there at night so everyone's in bed. there's four people that sell spells, soul gems, and other miscellany. buy, wait two days, repeat.

edit: if you plan on grinding to 100 in one go, you better bring a lot of money. according to my game stats on multiple playthroughs, it takes approximately 244 enchants to get to 100.

About 20 of them will come from blackreach as I stated above.
You can also get about 40 from the dwenmer ruins you can find from the MQ and winterhold collage questline. You can find other soul gems randomly, and I think alot of daedra questlines involve soul gems one way or another.

Just have a little patience and buy them. You'll have plenty by the time you're ready to power-level enchanting

First money is the least of your concerns then leveling enchanting, enchant iron daggers or other junk weapons with turn undead, absorb health and best of all the 1900 gold banish, look for weapons with this enchants then selling to blacksmiths or general traders. Get the transmute spell and smith jewelry with the gems you find to sell to the wizards in exchange of gems.
For real fast leveling just fast travel between cities, buy gems and junk weapons or materials to make them, enchant, sell and move on, do quest dungeons to fill them up.

Pretty much this, although you may have to visit all the smiths several times to find a weapon with Banish on it to get started with. When you do find one buy it no matter how much you have to spend to get it; you'll make that back dozens of times over, if not more, from selling the enchanted weapons you then craft. It doesn't matter if the magnitude is low, since 1) you'll be selling in bulk anyway, and 2) the enchantment is just that valuable due to the effect's casting cost.

As an alternative you can sell gauntlets and helmets with weapon skill Fortify effects; these are fairly valuable in their own right, only need a little more material than daggers, and will be a bit easier to sell since stronger Banish enchantments will make the items worth more than the vendor can pay unless you buy out their crafting supplies in the process. These effects are also considerably easier to find, which can save some time by cutting out the need to vendor-scum.
