I thought the empire was working with Thalmor. Ulfric stands for everything Thalmor isn't, such as continual worship of Talos.

It would be more like the empire is the Yankee Union & the Stormcloaks are the Rebel Confederates. This anology would make more logical coherence in the world of Skyrim Players.

That would only be a fit anology if:
- the Yankees would just have been beaten by a foreign government of religious and racial fanatics and were now a spent force
- The Yankees were currently obliged to carry out the totalitarian policies of the invaders on their own soil
- The Rebels would not support slavery and their rebellion would consequently be unrelated to that issue

The best anology (no anology is perfect) is still WW2 with the Empire as the Vichy Governement. This makes Ufric not a Hitler, but an anti-Hitler

But the stromcloaks are racist, so that puts a huge hole in your anology. Besides it's not a war of the worlds, it's simply just a civil war.

That's your religious belief. Atheists believe there was no Jesus or that he was a fraud who managed to trick people thinking there's a God. You have your right to your religious beliefs but don't go imposing them on people who believe in other religions or believe there's no God.

I'm unsure about the current Empire's policies but if it's anything like the pre-Oblivion crisis Empire then it's more American than the Stormcloaks. The Empire of old generally spread freedom of religion, freedom of trade, worked towards the abolition of slavery etc (like the Union). I can't really judge the current Empire's prevailing mentality by the WGC either, since that was a desperate measure to stop the Thalmor from gaining further ground in the Great War.

That is right. It's the Thalmor who are imposing the 8 god treaty not the Empire. Imperials don't really care to excersie the need to restrict the worship of Talos in Skyrim, it is the Thalmor who are doing it.

Thats just Thalmor being capitalist. I stiil don't see how Ulfric is working for the Thalmor as oppose to him being manipulated by them.

The Thalmor like, already control Tamriel in secret.Just like the mythcal Illuminati.One of the Reason's that the dragonborn was ressurected by the Divines was too smash them like Croache's.The Dragonborn is the biggest Treat the Thalmor probaly ever faced.The Dragonborn should join the empire to restabilish it,just like the old ones did.
