Faendal is a nice guy, but he is boring. Pretty much everyone you meet later is more exciting.

His goody-two-shoes habit of attacking me if I steal something got on my nerves. So I FUS'd him into a wall. Repeatedly.

yeah i thought sven was cool at first when i first played the game, but i didnt help him luckily coz later i realised Faendal is a boss archer Bosmer.
Yeah i gave him the best elven armor and daedric bow he kiills dragons easily now with his ears.

I sided with Sven for some reason and then ten seconds later a Dragon came and there goes Sven chasing it with a dagger....

I gave Camilla the letter and told her it was from Feandal. That way I could make Sven follow me and sacrifice him to Boethea.

Exact same thing, after I maxed my free training for archery, I found him useless as I was running with Farkas.

I used him like the daedric princes use me, feels good.

i use him right of the bat until my archery skill is 50 and then he's expendable, so i send him back to riverwood and he seems to get killed by a dragon at some point.

I RP'd Faendal into joining the Thieves guild, I gave him the starting thieves guild armor, heavily enchanted hide shield (looks good with the armor) and a Ali'kir Scimitar, he's a pretty badass swashbuckler. level scaling be damned, I think he's good.

Faendal is smarmy. So is Sven. So are all the supposed "sixy male follower toons" in this game. Eww. Just.... gag. I WISH Beth (and other publishers) didn't find it necessary for whatever stupid reason to go there.

I probably couldn't give you any real "reasoning". Just some of the male toons give me "uneasy feelings" - Faendal moreso than Sven, though Sven does as well to a certain extent. Belethor, while supposedly "sleazy" doesn't bother me - but then, he's just a shopkeeper. Both Farkas and Vilkas disturb me. Can't really think of the other named males that set me off, as I'm not in game at the moment.

Mostly.... it's that I don't really want RL sorts of supposed interaction in games I play to get away from RL.... I'm aware that the majority of gamers these days want all that six/relationship/marriage crap in games. I don't. In fact.... I just want my husband IRL to leave me the hell alone (which I'm assuming has to do with my age and the state of my hormones, and that's all I'm going to say about it). What I want is to just move to Alaska's North Slope.... alone - except for my cat, my computer, and my dish antenna.... I AM a hermit, I've never pretended to be otherwise.... And I don't want games to push "relationships" at me.... Just one more thing I ignore in game....

I thought it was hilarious the first time I talked to Faendal and the way his face cringes talking about Sven when he says "He's a bard!" I feel the same way about bards lol.

I LIKE bards. I play bards when the option exists in games (hasn't for a long time unfortunately). I do NOT like Sven, bard or otherwise. And you may laugh at me all you like. It certainly doesn't bother me.
