Scarcity of recipes

Oh there are actual recipes for the forge, besides the book you find? Interesting, I never found one either. I just make scrolls now, since I read about that on the forums hahahaha

I have several on the character that went through the mage quests, and she's only in the 30's level range. I haven't found any on my other character, but she's lower level and hasn't done any mage quests.

Wait, you found these while doing the mage quests? Then maybe I'll complete them. I only started.

I only seem to find these recipes after I have seen the forge itself and read that book about it where the recipes are mentioned as scattered across Skyrim. Could reading the book be a trigger to spawn them in leveled lists? Has anybody ever found one of the recipes without going to the College and finding the forge first?

I also found that Storm Atronach Staff recipe. Nice, especially as my follower has conjuring training.

Not to spoil to much, but if you have one recipe, others of a similar sort aren't to hard to guess at. And there's no cost for guessing wrong...

True you can guess at them, but some of the ingredients I would never have guessed had I not caught a glimpse of a wiki. I think a better game design might have been to make the ingredients random, or only available/found after you find each recipe.

I can confirm that mage dungeons are the best. Sunderstone Gorge I reloaded a number of times. I was able to get two recipes in one trip. They were on the corpses of the various mages. While some recipes can be guessed easily from others, some you need to keep trying.
