Scarcity of recipes

Post » Sun Jun 03, 2012 9:18 pm

This is spoiler.

In my first play through the game, I only found one Atronach forge recipe. In my second time through, I haven't found any. Is there some trick to this? Yes, the wikis have all the info, great. I try not to abuse that knowledge too much though.

I thought this was a good question. And so far, no one has accused you of being a troll for asking.

If you eat/use the ingeridients as you discover them, the reccipes will be revealed when you use the alchemy stand.

He's talking about the Atronach Forge... not Alchemy. :P

I've never found ONE recipe. I don't really care, for myself, but it seems as if they should show up occasionally anyway.

I've found one in 178 hours and it was in a boss chest twenty levels ago. There's rare and then there's ridiculous and trying to find an Atronach Forge recipe is ridiculous.

Right in that case, here is the link to the recipe.

If your at a pretty high level (and maybe if u'v actually used the forge?) you may come across them now and then on certain enemies, I'v found them on magic users and even forswarn... what I dont get is the purpose of the forge, if you use it then an atronoch comes out and u have ta kill it and then that's that.

You can get Daedric Armor without the smithining perks, although the boots are currently buged as it spawns the boots that the Daedra wear, which is not equipable by the PC.

depending on the ingredients, you can get daedric armour and other stuff too, like scrolls and staves.

I only found any of the recipes on my mage character who did the college quest line. On her I find them all over. Maybe the game spawns them when you enter the Midden, dunno.

The first atronach forge recipe I have found, not counting the book at the forge, was for a storm atronach staff! Ever since then I have used it on a regular basis.

The best places to find atronach forge recipes is by clearing necromancer dens, spellcasters drop them albeit rarely.

Be advised though, some recipes won't work until you get a sigil stone, and that is only available to master conjurers, which makes sense.

They're usually in the (rare) pure Conjurer dungeons.

I find them all the time but I guess that's because I have 100 conjuration or no? I have the official guide book anyway and that has them all in it. A good way to raise your conjuration and in turn get the sigil stone is to just summon a familiar/flame atronach and banish it back to oblivion over and over. Doing this with a flame atronach it only took 21 summon/banishes per level; about a hour and a half if you get a good rhythm going and that's from level 50 to 100.

You get a skill point for every corpse you raise while in combat until really high skill levels, and is much less boring.

Yeah I summoned atronachs in battle to get up to 50 but really the battles started lasting 10 seconds long at best so I just stopped for awhile then needed to catch back up.

Just alt-tabbing to say, found one! It was in Harmugstahl, in a chest. This was one of the best dungeons for treasure I've found. Flawless emerald too. Not the main chest either. First one for this character though I've had max conjuration for a while and looted every mage I an find.
Level 41 on Master.

Found one in Ansilvund. Note I have started, but not finished, the College quest line. And I have used the forge once before using the basic recipe found at the forge in case that is a triggering step.

Edit: also I have conjuration 100 though I'm not sure that's required.
