Dragon shouts are your best bet..when it comes to magic against Dragons.....thats for sure ...i think they are immune to paralysis (alchemy / ilusion) related

I have had slow and paralysis poison work on dragons. I've also had a paralysis weapon work. They work about 20% of the time. However, they work for about a second irregardless of how long the effect is supposed to last. The best description is the dragon stalls/stops then goes again. The weapon is the best as you can whack away at the beast and get it to stop for a second every now and then.

That's been my experience too. A sword with paralysis will only affect them briefly but if you keep swinging at them it holds them in place. It's why I don't use the effect anymore. You win every single fight with every single enemy every time. I remember the first time I got Chillrend I thought it was the greatest thing in the world until I realized it essentially broke the game.

I do not know how to take video of game play so I can not get "proof" of what I will tell.

Near Angi the Archer's Cabin, there is a Dragon Lair. You can climb to an overlook in sneak mode so you look down onto the Dragon, hidden from view.

using a sneak archery shot, poison included both paralysis and lingering damage, i sneak shot the dragon. It took about half health from it. it tried to start flying and then crashed landed only 2 seconds later. I was able to then stick two more arrows (sneak mode) and finish it off. I do not know if it succumbed to the paralysis effect, but it gave this impression.

It probably crashed due to being heavily damaged, not paralysis.

I know that Augmented element + impact makes tasty dragon snacks in rather short order... so some effects work

You can turn dragons to ash with fully upgraded lightning spells (not sure if mentioned here, got halfway through reading thread when I got bored and decided to post). They'll just vaporize and the ash will stay in midair from time to time. You can still get a dragon soul from the ashes, which is rather weird in my mind. But yeah. :P

Dragonrend = problem solved

Marked for Death level 3 = problem solved as well.

Paralysis doesn't work, spell or potion. master "mass" or expert level both fail.
It would be way easy/(ier) if you could just paralyze a dragon.

After a dragon takes a certain big damage shot or takes too much damage they crash land. So It's an intended scripted event not the paralysis doing It's thing. Example, I snuck up on a dragon sleeping on a tower. Hit him with a dagger x 30 sneak attack for a single shot kill, he popped up in the air, flew a bit, crash landed and died. They just do that stuff sometimes.
