Final Boss. . . No Loot?

Post » Mon Jun 04, 2012 8:31 am

there is SOOOOO much to do after the main quest, it would be cool to get a sword or some armour. The only way it would be not useful is if you stop playing after MQ and not explore or do any side quests.

It would have been good if they rounded it up like Oblivion. Firstly they give you a finishing video with a voice-over to basically round off the story and then reward you some unique item as a trophy. The ending of a main quest should be something special and not just end like a regular guild one. Even the ending of the College of Winterhold questline felt more satisfying.

So after much procrastination (level 42 with 100 hours played) I finally finished the main quest and beat Alduin, only to find that you get NO loot from him!! There is no chests or anything to loot at all in Sovengard (spelling?). This was very frustrating for me, usually at the final boss you get something awesome!! Also, he was easier to beat than the Draugr Deathlords!! Whats up with this? What are your opinions on this?

Well, you do obtain a few dragon shouts as a result of the main questline. That's basically the reward. It wouldn't really make a lot of sense for Alduin to have anything on him.... he's a dragon. Unless his scales and bones were better for smithing or had magical properties. Either way, he wouldn't have gear on him unless he ate someone more skilled/more fortunate than yourself.

I mean, you didn't really get anything in Oblivion either. A poopy set of armor that you'd have to wait 2 weeks in-game time to get.

Black scales would be cool, but if you think about it, that would be like getting a special colored wolf pelt off Fenris. We could have gotten the journal of Leroy Jenkins.

It wouldn't make sense to have any chests in Sovngarde, just think about it. As for loot on Alduins body, yeah, a small scene where you cut off his head would of been nice. But that would remove all chances of him having the possibility to come back, wouldn't it? ;)

No, not really. He's a very special dragon.

His skin burnt off he fell into a bunch of scattered bones and then ash. I highly doubt you will ever see him again.
Besides that he was the one who resurected the rest of the dragons except paarthanax hes been around forever.
so with ot him the possibility to kill all the dragons and make them extinct (again) is more likely.
