Dual wield armor build help!

Should I use heavy or light armor with my dual wielding redguard build. I was thinking about going with heavy but im not sure. Any help would be appreciated. Edit: Im using swords as my main weapons.

I was thinking of just joining whatever guild i think looks fun along the way. :biggrin: But im not going to be an assassin/theif if you were thinking that. And sorry if i sound like a noob but its my first TES game.

I'm a heavy dual wield build. I prefer the armor numbers on the heavy side not having a shield and all its nice.

I use swords as well. So yea lol. Def recommend heavy armor, oh and I recommend getting into archery some. It will help with runners.

DEFINITELY use heavy armor, and make sure to upgrade your health A LOT, because you will be getting hit a lot. I use archery and alchemy as well with my dual wielding argonian. Works out, because you can make resistance spells and poisons. I use a 4 to 1 ration, health to stamina with my character, seems to be working great. Oh yeah, and smithing.

I'd go with heavy armor because you won't be able to block while dual-wielding.

Well both have advantages and disadvantages.

Heavy negates damage better of course but it weighs a lot and you won't be as agile. It also cuts into your carry weight until much later in the perk tree, you can use the steed stone to get around that. For dual wield I prefer a high stamina/ high health build so eventually you will have enough capacity that it won't be a factor.

Light has less damage negation but weighs a lot less, so you will have a larger carry capacity. It might be an illsuion but I feel that I am able to close with range opponents better. This is important as you don't have any means of blocking spellls or arrows so you need to get close to them as quickly as possible. For this build I put health above stamina, generally a 3:1 ratio.

I am a dual dagger wielding redguard and I use light armour. I like to be nimble and I don't die that often now...

Just saying, if you decide to go enchanting+smithing you'll reach the armor cap either way. And if you're going for an assassin type light armor would be better as it makes less noise while sneaking. Also its weird to see a dude in heavy armor sneaking around :D

I chose light armour because I'm an assassin. I guess if you don't like sneaking, then it isn't necessary.

Light armor has useful perks including faster Stam' regen and a 10% chance to entirely avoid a damaging attack. There are also many cool quest armor sets that are light armor.

Dual wielding is great offense, but magic and big 2H'ers can tear you up. Raising health/stam in a 4:1 ratio helps. Also, putting a 2-3 points in smithing and 7 into light armor will take you to the 80% damage reduction cap. Using Alteration will help while leveling and also give you 30% magic resistance for 5 perks. Redguard might be a good starting choice as they have Adrenaline Rush, poison resist, alteration and skill in one-hand weapon usage. Alternatively, Orcs' Berserker Rage is awesome for this type of build.

Sounds like you made your choice, but it depends on what type of dual wielder you are looking for.

Personally, I wanted a badass master of combat. So I gave him Heavy Armor, and worked towards pumping up his Health, so that he could get into the thick of things and not have to worry about it.

However, Heavy Armor takes a bigger hit on your stamina pool, and at least for my playstyle, Dual Wielding needs more Stamina for power attacks to really be successful. Light Armor will give you more Stamina to work with, as it won't drain your Stamina like Heavy Armor will.

My build was a Dual Wielding, Heavy Armored mage, so when I made my build, I kind of needed to focus on all 3 Attributes.

My point investment went as follows:

Level 2 - Magicka
Level 3 - Health
Level 4 - Magicka
Level 5 - Stamina
Level 6 - Magicka
Level 7 - Health
Level 8 - Magicka
Level 9 - Stamina

...And so on and so forth.

It worked out rather well for me.

But I like your choice. I prefer Heavy Armor myself personally. I really enjoyed playing a Heavy Armored Dual Wielder.
