Am I the only person whi enjoys the Thieve's Guild?

Definitely not alone. I don't usually play sneaky/thief types, but the thieves guild totally won me over. I especially liked the perpetually available sneaky quests, and the prizes on the shelf that went along with their completion. I really wish the other guilds had something similar.

I liked the main quest parts of the thieves guild but absolutley hate the way they implemented the random nature of aquiring quests to rebuild the guild (and if you wanna be guild master you have to do them so its not like they are optional).

What i would of done is instead of asking for specific jobs and getting a random city i'd of had it so you asked for a random job in a city you pick that way you dont have to save/reload hoping you get the last city quest you need to access the end quest for a city (this is the reason i stopped doing thieves guild quests on my last char).. Maybe assign 2 city's to Delvin and 2 to Vex

I much preferred the Dark Brotherhood questline over the Thieves Guild. Wish DB was as long though. Best part about the T.G. quests is getting the Nightingale Armor and restoring the TG to all of its glory. Loved being able to just go there to TG merchants.

I liked the part where I had to set some beehives on fire. I also liked planting the skeever poison. They were well thought off, I thought.

The list of things I dislike about the Thieves Guild is longer.
  • I do not like their talk in general. They all seem damn unhappy and it makes being with them a burden. One can complain only for so much, but they never seem to make an end.
  • Having the option to pick between 7 different radiant quests makes the thieves look greedy. I would have liked it to be one quest offer, but of random types. Now it is like a "supermarket of quests". Thieves are not greedy by nature.
  • I disliked it where I get shot at and then wake up by some random chance to find my attacker is also my saviour and then have to follow her around for the rest of the quests.
  • Jumping down into a pit with no visible exit is stupid. I only jumped, because I saved my game and pretended to have used a robe to climb down. I would otherwise just not jump into an obvious death trap. Really, it is just a stupid quest.
  • Brynolf and Karliah are lousy sneakers and also chat a lot during the last part inside the Dwemer ruin. This was just weird.
  • I also dislike the idea of a the thieves guild with its own treasure vault and trophy wall, which makes them no better than their targets.
  • If it was not for the fact that Mercer Frey had killed one of their own, would I have said that Mercer Frey did the right thing by running off with the guild's treasure and to go for a good heist of his own. With regards to what Brynolf said - crime is one thing, killing is another - was Mercer Frey exactly the type of thief I admire.
  • ...
Much of it feels like some stereotype and at the end of the quest line do the thieves guild appear to be still not more than the scum beneath the city.

I read tons of complaining on here about the Thieve's Guild, and I gotta say I disagree with most of it. I'm thoroughly enjoying it. Even the 20 fetch quests to bring it back to glory aren't that bad, and make sense-- to build influence you commit crimes in the main holds. I only need six more before I'm done and the first 14 weren't very painful.

The City influence quests towards the end felt like padding to me. I helped out Nocturnal, got the Nightingale armor, and YET I am treated like an errand boy. That stuff could have been written and executed better in my opinion.

But you weren't the Guild Master yet. The Thieves Guild still had to be restored to its former glory.

At least it creates an actual reason for you to become Guild Master than "lolplayercharacter." *coughCollegeofWinterholdcough*

I loved the TG questline! I thought the whole story was explained extremely well and it got me the most emotionally involved out of any of the questlines.

Also this. It just feels like home when I go to the Ragged Flagon. I feel much more attached to the members of the Thieves Guild than say the College, or the Companions.

The questline could have been better, but I like the Skyrim Thieves Guild just fine.
Way better than those Robin Hood wannabees from Oblivion

I enjoy it to for the most part, especially Vex's training. I'm more of a DB person myself but the TG is always a must play.

the only bit i didn't like about the thieves guild quest line is that the thieves guild is attached to a daedric lord and that your forced to give your soul to nocturnal before the key is returned even though it is explained that nocturnal won't assist the nightingales/thieves guild until the skeleton key is returned

I also enjoyed the Thieves Guild. I turn in the key since I eventually have 200 more lockpicks than I need.

Just wish Karliah could be a follower & wife.

I enjoyed the TG questline except for the first quest with shaking down the merchants. But once I got past that it was fun.

I felt the same way.

same here, I think the Thieves Guild ist the only Faction in Skyrim that gives you at least the feeling of a guild (Dont know about DB, wiped them out...)

They didn't feel like padding to me since you can start doing them pretty much right away. I used them to improve my sneak/pickpocket/lockpicking skills before getting too far into the main TG questline. Made me really feel like I'd earned the trust to do the main TG quests and earned the Guildmaster promotion at the end.

Im a DB guy but the TG is is my 2nd fav. No reason you cant be a thief and an assassin at the same time. The Companians are just boring to me and the Mages College isnt all that great in comparison either.
