I liked the part where I had to set some beehives on fire. I also liked planting the skeever poison. They were well thought off, I thought.
The list of things I dislike about the Thieves Guild is longer.
- I do not like their talk in general. They all seem damn unhappy and it makes being with them a burden. One can complain only for so much, but they never seem to make an end.
- Having the option to pick between 7 different radiant quests makes the thieves look greedy. I would have liked it to be one quest offer, but of random types. Now it is like a "supermarket of quests". Thieves are not greedy by nature.
- I disliked it where I get shot at and then wake up by some random chance to find my attacker is also my saviour and then have to follow her around for the rest of the quests.
- Jumping down into a pit with no visible exit is stupid. I only jumped, because I saved my game and pretended to have used a robe to climb down. I would otherwise just not jump into an obvious death trap. Really, it is just a stupid quest.
- Brynolf and Karliah are lousy sneakers and also chat a lot during the last part inside the Dwemer ruin. This was just weird.
- I also dislike the idea of a the thieves guild with its own treasure vault and trophy wall, which makes them no better than their targets.
- If it was not for the fact that Mercer Frey had killed one of their own, would I have said that Mercer Frey did the right thing by running off with the guild's treasure and to go for a good heist of his own. With regards to what Brynolf said - crime is one thing, killing is another - was Mercer Frey exactly the type of thief I admire.
- ...
Much of it feels like some stereotype and at the end of the quest line do the thieves guild appear to be still not more than the scum beneath the city.
