Am I the only person whi enjoys the Thieve's Guild?

Post » Tue Jun 05, 2012 2:31 am

I read tons of complaining on here about the Thieve's Guild, and I gotta say I disagree with most of it. I'm thoroughly enjoying it. Even the 20 fetch quests to bring it back to glory aren't that bad, and make sense-- to build influence you commit crimes in the main holds. I only need six more before I'm done and the first 14 weren't very painful.

The Nightingales part of it totally fascinated me, I want more of that.

I tell you I really like Tonilia having 4 grand on her though!

p.s. I had to cancel a few pickpocket jobs, even with all kinds of stuff equipped plus potions, couldn't get pickpocket above 20%, and sometimes stayed at 0%. Something going on there, when everything else was kind of easy.

I'm a stealth guy, so the Thieve's Guild was amazing for me. I got into like eight fights in the entire questline, and it was still amazing.

You are not alone. I very much enjoy the Thieves Guild. The radiant quests tend to annoy me but that's only because it takes me 9 hours to get that 5th one for Markarth.

I've been traditionally a two-handed plate type guy, but I made a stealth character over the weekend, and it's the most fun I've had in a long while. I absolutely adore the Thieves Guild quests, and from what I've done of the Dark Brotherhood chain it seems pretty fun, too. I only need one more quest to finish up the random contracts for the Thieves Guild and they're actually pretty fun, at least in my opinion. I look forward to rebuilding the guild.

Although... MARKARTH, Y U NO GIVE ME QUEST?

Oh yea, I really enjoyed the Thieves Guild quest line! I got a few screen shots of the last room with the statue! Very cool place! And I really like having Brynjolf and Karliah as companions!

I loved the Thieve's guild questline, maybe even my favourite of all the factions. I like the whole design of guild and the people in it etc. The quests were also really fun and I can't wait to do them again on my stealth character (hopefully it will be even more fun this time around). I wasn't really a fan of those 'Numbers Jobs etc.' though.

Probably my favorite questline, the Brotherhood being a close second. They are just so damn classy, I enjoy all the quests.

I liked it. A lot more thought put into it that Warrior/Mage guilds. Down to even insigificant scripting sequences and such.

I enjoy it. It's not as good as the Dark Brotherhood IMHO, but I still really enjoy it.

Wow, I always get Markath jobs. I reload and try for a Riften/Windhelm/Whiterun job, because I don't like travelling across the entire map for one side quest. (I haven't been to Markath or Solitude on my TG character.)

I really liked the main questline. I wasn't crazy about vicitimizing innocents (refused a lot of those when I liked the mark) to get the special jobs and wasn't crazy about working with Erikur for the Solitude influence, but Nocturnal helped me get past it.

Wish I would've done that because now you can't get back in there. I know the head is off, but with Waterbreathing I still could get some pics. I wish that back door/cave was marked on the map so I could find it. Does anyone know: if I found that back entrance can you get back into the statue chamber?

I just finished the TG last night and i must say it was quite enjoyable. though i wish i could take a walk with Dirge to the ratway vaults with only one returning to the flagon... i'm the guildmaster show some respect haha!

most quests were well thought out and even the restoring former glory quests were fun... i particularly liked the sweep and fishing jobs. i always keep 2 active in case i happen to be in the area. It felt like you earned your way up the ladder and it took well over a month of in game time (at least for me) to complete the whole thing, unlike the companions which felt like it took a week of game time to finish and all of a sudden you're harbinger when you don't feel you have any business being in that spot.

I also like how some of the "thane" quests in Riften can be considered helping the TG too if you role play it right. clearing out the skooma warehouse i treated it as if they were infriging on guild turf without permisison and not giving us our cut and had to be dealt with, telling Maven about Louis Letrush wanting me to steal her horse and him getting what's coming to him helped solidify her feelings toward the guild.

I do wish there were more nightingale related quests given to you after returning the skeleton key, she seems like a fun daedra to work for as long as you don't screw up.

now it's on to the dark brotherhood quest line!

I enjoyed the TG questline except for the first quest with shaking down the merchants. But once I got past that it was fun.

Tg line was the best imo. It's the most profitable of the guild types, what with 5-6 grand just laying around the place constantly once you get the Guild up to stage 4 and become guild master. Also had some of the best quests and rewards. I wish I could have Delvin as a follower, he's legit.

I actually almost like the radiant quests better than the actual questline. Its just straight-up theivery, and thats what I got into the TG for. I just wish they weren't random, that you'd just get 5 quests per hold and once a hold was done you wouldn't get more for that same hold (at least not until doing all 20 was done).

My only real complaint about the TG questline is that there's not a whole lot of thievery going on. I mean, you're sneaking around, but for the most part you're not stealing anything (aside from the larceny items I guess). You're doing sabotage, or spying, or whatever, but little stealing. Makes me think they should have renamed the guild to something less indicative of thievery and more indicative of general wrongdoing in this game (they renamed the Fighters / Mages guilds, why not the TG as well?). I guess maybe they figured the random missions covered the stealing angle well enough and decided to branch out, but I enjoy stealing more than any of the other stuff personally.

That said, its still enjoyable overall, if a little short.

I liked it the best so far.

The character I am playing would have had a tough time with the shakedowns etc, but after the main quest, companions, winterhold, Thieves was next. I enjoyed most of the main thrust of it. I wanted the Nightingale armor -though I find it less than expected in the protection arena compared to my Dragonscale.

Overall, not having played other TES games, I found it very enjoyable. Still - I really dislike Maven!

So no, you're not alone.

I enjoyed it very much indeed, although I favorite the Dark Brotherhood more.

I bought Skyrim before playing any of the previous Elder Scrolls, knowing a little more history would have made it better for me.

One thing I disliked though was how long it took to finish the radiant quest, it kept giving me the same city over and over. Windhelm was my hardest to achieve.
