I just found maiq the liar!

Post » Tue Jun 05, 2012 12:26 pm

Yes, M'aiq has some food quotes this time around. I liked the butterflies comment, too, except that they respawn from zoning so he's not being accurate. Or maybe he's just trying to lay a guilt trip on the PC.

It worked on me for a moment. There is something elevated about his character I can't ignore. His wisdom seems so deep, man!

Some time ago I went nuts on a scavenger because he spawned close to M'aig and attacked him. Attacked M'aig! By Talos! I certainly did not ignore that!

I've met him 3 times and I'm only 70 hours in! : S I tried to kill him the first time, then I realised how wise he is!

Is this like some sort of eastern egg in the game? I've met this character once so far in 40 hrs of gaming but he spouted some random line and I walked off.

You can find him in every Elder Scrolls game since Morrowind.

He's an old face from older TES games. He normally talks about stuff that got cut, or things people have complained about over the years. Other things he says can just be funny.

I found the giant mudcrab also.... now we just need the giant ninroot, mudcrab merchant, and Creeper.

I found Ma'iq early in the game, in the mountains on my way to Winterhold. I haven't seen him since. I'll be doing less fast traveling from now on.

I ran into him on the way from Riverwood to Whiterun. Was keeping an old orc company, and he got clocked pretty good haha.

I played my mage for about 170 hours without seeing him. I thought he was some kind of running joke that everyone but me knew about. Then I decided to do more walking instead of fast travel so as to visit some locations that I had been missing. Now I see him all the time. Try walking from whiterun to rifton. Seems like I see him everytime I make that journey.

It was hilarious when I saw him I was leaving Windhelm and walking alongside of the river when I saw a few silhouettes and as I came closer it was two of those Redguards who are looking for the female Redguard and they were questioning her and randomly standing behind the woman was M'aiq. It was funny because it looked like her was trying to be incognito and listen in on the conversation.

I saw him once or twice now on different characters. To be honest, when I saw him I didn't respond much, I unconsciously expected him to be in Skyrim for some reason. Some things (hopefully) never change :) good job Bethesda.

If you fast travel you won't find him, I saved him from a frost troll the other day and afterwards he didn't even want to talk to me.

Outside of Whiterun: Don't try to block if you are using two weapons. Besides it is more fun to stab your opponent twice.

Ive only ever found him once in three characters. Too much fast-travelling i guess.

This is my 1st TES game and my first character saw him about 3 or 4 times, but I had no Idea who he was.
I created a new character (after I figured out how to play) and now that I know what he is I haven't seen him in over 150 hours.

He'll turn up soon I suppose.
