Go pester the jarl and her steward; however, if you want book storage, Markarth is the place to be.

by playing the game? LOL Or in my case, its due to enchanting. Enchanting cheap stuff like daggers with paralyze or stamina damage gives a good load of money, even for petty soul gems.

Ha ha. I can't even manage to hold on to my money long enough to collect 8 grand at once. It's probably because I keep buying iron ingots to make daggers to increase my smithing. I'm lvl 90 at smithing now, so I guess once I hit 100 money will start rolling in.

House from Whiterun is much better than Imperial CIty's apartment. It was stinky shack! :-( Good they kept this buy your furnices-thing. Too sad after this new patch on PS3 you can't use bookshelves anymore, gotta store all those books to bags etc.

Can't use bookshelves on PS3? I'm using my Breezehome shelves. They are lookin pretty good packed with books.

I think the Whiterun house is the best looking house in the game. I have thousands and thousands of excess gold but Whiterun is still my favourite home. It's so cosy.

Riften's house is pretty cool. It's this little shoreside property; even has a door that leads out straight onto Skyrim instead of the town; and it has its own dock. Like I said, pretty cool. Imagine the Hamptons, but poorer.

i could care less what it looked like, it was cheap lol. in these types of games, (oblivion, fallout) i find it hard to get gold or money. i know i can sell a bunch of crap, but 5000 gold for a house was good enough for me. its just a place i can go to, to store things when i have extra

Travel to Riften and get a Amulet of Mara. Travel back to Whiterun and brawl the lady in the Bannered Mare. Marry her, and move into her house. Cheapest house in the game

I'm glad I didn't buy the bedroom decorations in Whiterun...I saw it on a video, and just like I expected...it blocks off the quick escape down the stairs.

I really, really like the house in Markarth, tho'.

I love the solitude house. With the mod it has everything in it within three rooms, tons of ostorage and displays. And marry a wife that is a merchant you don't even have to leave home to sell stuff...lol

Proventus Avenicci , the Jarl's Stewart, should give a dialogue option with something like "I would like to decorate my home". Inside that option he lists all the choices.

If you bought the house and don't see those, I guess you hit some kind of bug, so reload and try it again.

I disagree, with mild gameplay I find the method of commerce (caps, $$ money, gold etc...) in any of these type of games is easily attainable.
Agreed. After certain items become scaled to your level, it actually becomes harder to go around Skyrim selling your stuff than actually finding it. I found seven ebony war axes in Dustman's Cairn. SEVEN. And that was just the war axes. Not including the couple of warhammers, battleaxes, a bunch of ebony swords, a couple bows, and shields. I had to make 2 trips back to Whiterun to store my things (I cannot leave loot, despite having over 500k Septims...)

He can't pay attention to detail.

Pay more attention, you'll like the game more.

It's convenient to simply jump down the stairwell after sleeping. With the bedroom decorations the addition makes it necessary to take a few extra steps around and down the stairs proper.
Not really a big deal, but I could do without the extra wall. I bought all of the other upgrades, tho'.

It looks absolutely hideous. Is there any way to make this place look better? There is nothing in it...
Lol'd. Talk to the guy you bought the house from.

The thing I hate about that upgrade is the table of cheese near the foot of my bed. I get home and Lydia is there eating cheese, I go to bed while she is sitting there eating cheese, I wake up and she is STILL THERE eating cheese. Don't know how she stays in shape lounging around my pad eating all my damn cheese. My wife isn't much better, btw.

First off...

Seriously?... You wont buy the bedroom addition cause it adds a half a second of character movement? Hahahahaha... Funny.

Second...

I thought it was a bug with lydia always in my room. Lol. Starin at me when im sleeping... Eating and eating... Getting up, sitting back down, over and over... When i accidentally take the plate from under the sweetroll when im trying to put jewelry in my nightstand, she asks me what im doing when i put the plate back and move the sweetroll onto the plate... Lol. She also tells me to be careful... Of what???! The sweetroll falling to the floor?? Shut up b!+<# and eat your cheese! This sweetroll's mine! ...im savin it.

Kind of like when you buy an actual house, you have to buy furniture separately.

Pft, you make it sound like furniture made from empty moving boxes is somehow worthless.

Stupid question here but why do you (or anyone else) put books on the shelf?. I store everything in a chest.

Is there a limit as to how much a chest can hold or something? or is it just because books belong on a bookshelf?

I just don't understand why the room in the basemant of Prospire Manor still has a bed roll after I bought everything. Shouldn't my Housecarl have a real bed?

The house in whiterun is pretty small, and theirs not a whole lot that is inside, however what is pretty good about having this house is in fact that you can store all of your dragon bones and scales in your chest, and when it's time to make some dragon armor (if you have 100 smithing perks) you bring along as many dragon scales and bones you need. if you reach your limit you can slowly walk to the smithing area, which is not all that far.

If you're a smither whiterun house is for you :)
