Take a break

Post » Wed Jun 06, 2012 3:28 am

I hadn't played Skyrim for about a week. Fired it up today and ...

*gigglesquee* ( )

Do yourselves a favour. Put your console/PC away and go do some other stuff. Then after a week or so, return to it. It's like you're playing it for the first time again.

So did I but unfortunately the game did not become more exciting for me. But that just sums up my general opinion about the game - it's just an average game.

I have and now I can't even bring myself to turn it on, I'll even clean and tidy instead of playing now. Well theres always the hundred hours of needing to start or going back to a previous point to redo because something was wrong or I wasn't sure if I wanted to avoid farkas till I was a high level or just accept he'd be level one and svcky forever.

People are mentioning burnout on another thread so I think this deserves a bump.

I've found I can play Skyrim on-and-off every few hours for about a day before I have to take a break, leave it and rejoin RL. Go do other stuff. Clean your house. Walk the dogs. Hang out with friends. Study. Etc. Etc.

Go away. It makes the experience fresh again.

This last play session, I've enjoyed the scenery a lot more (heck, I even made my character walk everywhere just because I'd forgotten how pretty everything was), completed a few quests, talked to a few NPCs, bought a house, organised my loot ... It's been a pretty entertaining day.

Now I'm putting it away until I forget what it's like again.

Well I would be skiing but I live at 7k ft. in the rockies and for the last 3 days it has been raining. Not wet snow, rain, for 3 days in late December, in the Rocky Mountains.

SO I have been replaying Fallout 3 to get in the mindest for the coming apolcalypse!

Did you guys know that Fallout 3 on Xbox 360 has 8 hotkeys instead of 2? It's really cool. Also the load times are at least 4 times as fast as Skyrim.

I was very sick the week before last and I was unable to even think about playing Skyrim. Got better last Wednesday I believe and it was SO great to start playing again. Very refreshing, even more so when you create a new character.

Glad to hear that did the trick for you. I'm in the midst of a break (3rd day) right now. I'm playing an unfinished renegade Femshep playthrough right now (March 6th is coming which will find Skyrim shelved for months).

Add to that the characters, voice acting and dialogue in FO3, while still bad, is nowhere near as svckish as that you find in TES games.

I think some of you play entirely too much. It's like the WoW players who only communicate with people through WoW. If you live somewhere where the sun actually shines, go outside and get some.

I understand that this is a fun game, but i can't believe some people have enough time to play that they've played for 100's of hours within the first couple of weeks of release.

FYI, I used to play WoW as well.

Endorsed.
