I didn't really pull off a move to win a fight but I was on some sort of cliff miles up from the ground and I was about to die, then I noticed there was water all the way down below me, so I was like either jump or die. So I sprinted away from my attacker and took a jump into the waters below and I survived, also I was playing dead is dead on that character so I got lucky.

I spotted a Thalmor patrol on the road south of Winterhold, so I ran behind some rocks and hid. After they passed, I stepped out and cast Chain Lightning. One-shotted the whole group.

That's why I Enchant all of my boots with Resist Fire (Resist Shock also, but that's for Mages) - both of my characters are Nords so they've got the Resist Frost.

I know a lot of people don't like to use those enchants to make it more challenging though.

Heh, I use Resist Magic, but since those are on the Dragonplate they weren't of much help.

Therein lies the rub. Another vote for 3rd Person View.

I understand the appeal of FPV when one is really wanting to RP (especially in this sort of game). I have real issues with FPV though.... I have vertigo problems and FPV exacerbates that situation. If I wind up in first person, I have to move so slowly I might as well NOT move.... otherwise - well, it's ugly. I can manage first person to manipulate objects for placement in a house (slowly.... VERY slowly) or to grab loot that might not be accessible without it. Otherwise.... just.... no. Can't go there.

I often forget to switch my gear based on the situation. Why am I taking so much damage? Oh right, I'm not wearing my Ebony Boots of Frost Abatement/Necklace of Shock Suppresion.

I hate 1stPV most of the time. It's not a realistic view - it's like you're driving an armored vehicle with a small rectangular cut-out through which you look. 3rdPV gives a more realistic FOV. Plus by being able to see the back of the character you get a better simulation of the hair standing up on the back of your neck phenomenon if someone or something comes up behind you. Now, I will use 1stPV in narrow hallways in Skyrim (and Fallout 3), but if I have only one choice: it's 3rdPV.

I have so many outfits and accessories (especially on my chick), but I'm pretty good about keeping the correct ones on. The 3rdPV helps, but I also had to establish a routine that I stick to pretty well now.

Well, in the past I have done FPV (YEARS ago, can't remember what game, but that was all there was - it was actually before TES, that long ago) and when I was younger it wasn't such an issue. But as with all things, age creates even MORE issues - and since third person has always been my favorite perspective I can't really complain. I DO understand that first person is more involving for those who seriously role-play.

Borderlands? Love that game...hate the 1stPV.

I prefer FPV, because it feels like I'm looking through the character's eyes. Yeah, peripheral vision svcks, but there's only so much a screen can do compared to an actual eyeball. I do occasionally swap to TPV, such as when I'm absorbing a Dragon soul or want to check how a wardrobe change looks (I tend to be fussy about matching the clothes to the character), but actually playing in it makes me feel like I'm watching a movie, which is not why I'm there.

No, never played it. Only thing I know about it is that I LOVE the music.... I wanted to use the "loader screen" music for a forum I ran for freestyle RP - but the publisher wouldn't give me permission. Good LORD that was a long time ago....

Mine would probably be the time where i entered Halted Stream Camp on my Nord Warrior when he was a low level. I'd enter the last room and get my ass kicked by the Bandit Chieftan and his two cronies in there. Well, i reloaded, then went back in, and as soon as they all crowded around me, i used my "Battle Shout" racial, and what happened next was hilarious. Both the Chieftan and his melee follower went running towards the tunnel leading to the spike pit, they set off a trap that made a Mammoth Skull swing into them, which killed the Bandit and heavily damaged the Chieftan. At the same time, the mage Bandit somehow caught the pool of Oil beneath her on fire, and she died in it. I then walked up to the still prone Bandit Chieftan, and caved his skull in with my Steel Mace.

I finally did my first end kill the other day that requires the enemy to be down on their knees.

I had a couple of good ones on my most recent character (the same one from the previous page) that I wasn't really expecting to get. You see, he uses an Orcish War Hammer, so I wasn't sure if the 2H Decapitation perk would work with it. I took it anyway, figuring I would find out one way or the other, and it turns out it works quite well with such weapons. In fact, the way it plays out its like I'm playing tee-ball with their heads, with all the associated physics oddities. Had one poor sod fly off in the opposite direction from his cranium, after getting caught on the wall sconce he was standing next to due to the force of the impact.

Actually I do have to say that whilst it wasn't a kill, beating the living [censored] out of Rolff in Windhelm until he was cowering on the floor by the door of the inn, covered in (very modded) blood gave me a certain RP satisfaction.
I should explain - Niamh is a Bosmer and has an affinity with elves in general, Rolff is an ignorant racist who offered her out for 100 gold, and got exactly what he deserved even though he is bigger and heavier than Niamh.

IRL it would have been a lesson well learnt in not being a [censored]. In game it was 20 points for Elf-kind.

Hmm i think it was like.. A day ago or something.. I was in Dawnstar doing some... Business... Yeah.. *pokes secret chest* then suddenly a Blood Dragon (again '.. why cant it be an Elder dragon atleast for once?!) swooped down from nowhere and it just attacked me.. It flew awat.. So yeah me and Kharjo sort of followed it... I got ready my Ice Spike spell (i always use it for the dragons with the fire breath) and i just attavk it.. When it was on a low health level it landed it its usual place between two builfings.. I ran up to him.. Took out my orcish mace (enchanted with the stamina damage) and just swiped at it randomply.. Then suddenly my my Khajiit jumped on its neck and kept on swiping at its head Lolz! It sort if looked like she wanted to ride on that dragon ahahahah. I kbow its not possible.. Sadly.. Then she got odd the dead dragon and i just took its soul...

Then as usuala huge crowd of people came with theur comments about the dragon and me taking its soul..

Me and Kharjo just ran away from the crowd XD ahah

Then did more secret chest business..


Ive never seen my Khajiit do such move before on a dragon.. It was just amazing! So yeah no wonder why im sharing it with you guys XD

Holy crap! The CS is a lateral swing?

Yup.

It's actually a two-part move:

1)Downward smash with hammer held in the 'block' position- this knocks them to their knees
2) Full-power lateral smash- body usually slumps over or sags backwards, wall(s) permitting, while the head bounces away

Oh, wow, the head bounces away. I've seen the Mace decapitation on YouTube and the head is 'vaporized'. I don't use 2-H on my warrior-type, but I may have to invest a few Perk points for this.

Hitting a bear in the head with Icy Spear at point blank range.

I use First Person View, when I need to be more accurate with my shots. This means whenever I'm in sneak mode.
