The best move you ever pulled on your enemies

Post » Wed Jun 06, 2012 9:06 am

Tought i might as well add an topic like this since i love reading the adventures that others had, and especially how well one turned the tide of battle with a well cast spell shout or move.

I'll start with mine, it's related to the quest "no one escapes cidina mine". I was almost finishing it, choosing to follow madanach to get me out, until the time was right to kill him off with the others, once he gave me all of his itens and we left out the door the battle with the guards started and when they were done with the silver blood and the guards, i noticed how close they were to each other as they were trying to advance...

"perfect chance" i tought, so i quickly pulled off an fusrodah on then, sending then down the cliff. Madanach fell head first into the concrete, while the rest fell down the small waterfall, but since the water level was really low in there they died upon impact. The only one that survived was the orc, who fell near madanach, but i quickly finished him off with some fire bolts.

Do you have a similar story where you finished off dozens of enemies with one move? or maybe using a trap?

Might i add... the water in markath is gonna smell for a while:

Nice touch. I enjoyed cidina mina as well. Instead of joining Madanach, I beastformed in the mine and ate everyone. It was bloody and totally hilarious. In fact I enjoyed it so much, I restarted from the save point and ate them all again several times. Its the simple things!

I've never actually done a massacre of lots of enemies, but I find using illusion magic really fun, like with a group of bandits. Hitting two of them with frenzy, watching them butcher their friends and then using calm on the last one. No fighting needed. There was 6 bandits at the time as well :D

When I was in a random draugr ruin, I was standing in front of a swinging blade trap and right on the other side were a group of draugr, unaware. So I whirlwind sprinted through the swinging blades, attacked a draugr to catch their attention, and then whirlwind sprinted back through the trap again while the draugr followed and walked RIGHT into the swinging blades. The slicing sound and grunts of pain were music to my ears, while I remained unharmed. What I like about Skyrim's level design is that you can use it to your advantage against enemies.

Mine has more to do with broken sneak AI than anything..

I was sneaking in some cave and found two bandits sitting at a table talking to each other. I sneaked up on them and shot one of them in the head. The other one gets up and looks for me for a minute, but fails to find me. He says "Must have just been my imagination.." and sits down and starts talking to the other bandit who's sitting dead in the chair with an arrow in his head as if absolutely nothing happened.

Hiding round the corner of a bandit fort just over from Riften, one of them comes out and round the corner and BAM! Right in the face with an Elven War Axe. Never even saw it coming. Got a kill cam and everything.
Awesome sauce.

I was in the mine close to Riverwood with Bandits in it. I take out the first few with little trouble and come to a wooden bridge that is up. I find the lever, and out it down. Two bandits run out onto the bridge, thinking fast, I pulled the lever again, and watched as on bandit flew across the room, while the other was stuck on the other side of the bridge. I airborne bandit hit the ground and died, and I opened the bridge again and swiftly finished the other.

Well I didn't kill anyone but in the Thieve's Guild quest where you go to to the bee hive place (can't remember the name :P) I talked to the Elf and failed the persuasion option( or on of them speech checks :P) So then I tried threatening him not knowing he would;d become hostile. I wanted the bonus for not killing him so I ran around his home until I went into a room shut the door and hid behind a dresser. I saw the door open and him walk in, but he didn't see me. I let out a sigh and then shouted HELL YEA! Then I completed the quest without going back into his room xD.

My dual-weild warrior got the drop on two necromancers that were sitting down having lunch in Illanata's Deep by using Whirlwind Sprint. Landed right next to the both of them, killed them both with a single power attack before they even stood up.

Two-Way Tie:

I was trying to pickpocket something off of Aerin (the ass-licker that's always around Mjoll ) for a Fishing Job. Well, he caught me and went hostile so I 'defended' myself and killed him with a back-hand slash decapitation. It was glorious.

Kind of a spoiler - not major, but it may be a spoiler for some:
Spoiler
At the very beginning of the The Forsworn Conspiracy during which time if you're quick enough you can save Margaret from the Forsworn Agent my chick assassin stabbed him in the thorax in a cinematic sequence. The beauty of it was the way in which it looked. My girl was wearing Tavern Clothes, standing upright, and short-arm stabbed him with no expression on her face as she looked straight ahead and he slumped in half partially over her shoulder and then fell back.

Speaking of that quest, do you win anything if you manage to save her? (not that i want to, she's [censored] but i'm curious).

Just some jewelry. Nothing special. I save her though, just cause I'm a nice guy like that. I got the running, jump-stab kill cam the last time I saved her. Very nice.

I didn't get anything - it changes the evidence gathering portion slightly.

The other day I lured all the forsworn at some outdoor location near me, then fired off a fully powered Slow Time shout, then laid down a Firestorm spell. Killed every single forsworn at the same time, and watching their bodies fly away in slow motion was just icing on the cake.

The best battle I've ever had is probably on some outdoor ruin (I forgot the name, it's the ruin where you have to fight a dragon and leveled draugr on its entrance). I Fus Ro Dah'ed at least 7 draugr to their death on that ruin (I actually wait for my shout to cooldown instead of hitting them with my bow since it looked hilarious).

I was on my way to Reachcliff Cave for Eola's quest, and came across a Thalmor patrol. Naturally, I attack them, earning me a bounty which I expected would go away when the last one died. It didn't, because an Imperial Courier came running by. So I run after him, swinging my weapons, but he doesnt stop, he keeps running. A few more blows, and he says "I've been hurt worse by better." The next attack? Kill cam. I grab his shoulder, and stab him in the back with my Ebony Sword, and it comes out his chest. Last witness eliminated. Bounty removed.

I was exploring Embershard Mine, and flipped the lever to lower the drawridge. The noise drew the attention of two bandits who were behind the bridge, and they come running. So I flipped the lever again. One of them made it across, but the other was still on the bridge as it went up, and it threw him across the cave and killed him.

This was probably mroe due to stupid AI than me, but in Embershard mine there's a tripwire activated rock trap. I always go into the mine right after Helgen, and manually activate the tripwire so I don't get squished.

Fast forward a few minutes, I'm being chased by a bandit back up to the entrance of the mine. I wasn't going to be using any light spells any time soon, so I grabbed the torch on the side of the wall, and thereby also plunging the area into darkness. Then I hear this "eurgh!". The bandit had ran into one of the rocks in the darkness and killed himself.

Talking to Commander Maro in the beginning of Hail Sithis! (DB final quest) resulted in him going hostile, and... watch this: Two guards, the Argonian, Mjoll, Shadowmere and Barbas attacked him.

Once upon a time I was chilling in Riften when all of a sudden every single NPC rushed to the North. And I mean EVERYONE. All the stall vendors, the shopkeepers, the beggars, the freakin' Jarl - everyone. I followed the mob, wondering what in the name of Mara could've triggered this mass migration, and saw that they'd all crowded around the entrance to Riften and were shouting out battle cries. "Skyrim is for the Nords!" "I'll get you!" "You can't get away from me!" I realized that they were all jammed up against a solitary NPC who was struggling valiantly to break free of the crush. She finally managed to slip away... and bolted straight for me. I assumed she wasn't running up to give me a hug, so I dealt her a nonchalant blow and she went down instantly, her health having been all but completely depleted by, well, everyone in Riften. The mob disbanded and returned to their stations as if nothing had happened. Completely bewildered by what I had just witnessed, I looted the woman's body hoping for some kind of explanation and found a note saying that she'd been sent by the Thalmor. Silly Thalmor. Riften's got my back. <3

I had that one happen on my most recent character, who had
Spoiler
Esbern
in tow at the time. Needless to say, she didn't have much of a chance.

One of mine happened on that same character, entirely by accident:

I Fast-Traveled to Riverwood to sell off some crap, to find it under siege by an Ancient Dragon. Now, I had killed one of its relatives earlier without much trouble, so I figured this one would go the same way. Right?

WRONG!

The fight turned into a hit-and-run slug-fest between the two of us, during which I came very close to dying (and thereby losing the character, as I play Dead-is-Dead) and had to intersperse heal spells between rounds of lightning-slinging in order to avoid being fried. I eventually force the thing to land, then draw my War Hammer and beat its head in with an overhead-smash kill-cam move. I pan out to 3rd person to watch the soul being absorbed (little ritual of mine), and discover why the fight had been so hard: I was still wearing my crafting outfit from my blacksmith session in Whiterun, instead of my dual-enchanted Dragonplate Armor.

:ooo: :blush2:

If I hadn't known how to mess with Dragons' AI (hint: they hate losing LOS to target) that character would be gone now, as one breath hit was doing about 70% of my HP. Fortunately, I had Fast Healing hot-keyed in case of emergencies (which this qualified as).

Needless to say, after seeing that I immediately put the armor back on, since my next destination was a Draugr ruin and some of them carry Ebony weapons at that level.
