Random dragon encounters = the answer to "What if cliff

I, for one, love them. Killing them is such a joy. Slap 'em down, rip their scales and bones out, then stuff them in my Cupboard of Holding back home. Never gets old somehow.

You seem kind of wrong to me on nearly every point:

- Instead of being some of the weakest creatures in the game they are some of the most powerful
Not really, trolls and giants deliver way more DPS than a dragon can dream of. Bears probably do more damage.
- Instead of running up on you and attacking you directly thus making them redictable and straightforward to slaughter, dragons keep incredible distances between you and them and hit you with ranged attacks
Only if your a [censored]. Go hide behind a rock or something and that forces them to land every time. If not they will lower down to blast you with fire/frost and then you hit them with a poisoned arrow and a shout/fireball, then strafe behind the rock/building and repeat a little and your golden. They will then land where you can own them with melee.
- Instead of being limited to specific areas, they litelrally spawn everywhere
Not if you don't do the whiterun kill the dragon part. You won't see a dragon anywhere. Even if you do that part of the quest, you won't run into that many unless your fast traveling all the time and once you reach about level 50 they become pretty rare, either that or I killed most of them.
- Dragons will spawn INSIDE of minor towns.
So? You've got guards and NPCS to help you out. Easy soul and scales/bones/loot IMO.
- Dragons will spawn right above you when you fast travel
Once again... fast travel is causing this. Why not put some thought into your journey and nail a bunch of quests all on the way and skip fast traveling. My dragons stopped spamming me when I stopped fast traveling.
- Dragons are extremely difficult to escape from or kill, all while blocking your fast travel and waiting
Difficult to kill? Are you serious? Two dual wielding power attacks with poison on the first blow kills them every time. If not throw a shout in there and keep slashing and they are done. As for escaping??? Really? Go inside a nearby house/cave and sleep/wait for a bit, then sneak later when you come outside and your golden.
- Dragons are unlimited in number and it is impossible to wipe them out, you will be harassed by them forever
Perhaps, but I think we expected that when we bought the game. I think its mainly a fast travel bug or something, I see one every 5-10 hours of game play as long as I'm not fast traveling everywhere or doing the word walls to learn more shouts.
- Dragons will chase you down from from extreme distances
I see them flying around in the distance. They never come bother me. In fact, when fighting them, they will get distracted with bandits, a horse or whatever other animal is in the area and go screw around with them every time before bothering with me, even if I've put an arrow or two in them. This would be an easy opportunity to escape.

To summarize, stop fast traveling so much, or don't advance the main quest right away and you won't see another dragon anywhere.

Dragons are not hard to kill. They're easy as hell. They're just annoying because I never know if they're gonna harass me or not.

I'm reading this thread and I can't believe I'm playing the same game. Since I reached level 27, I can't explore ANYWHERE without an elder dragon descending on me owning me. And the idea that they're easy to kill? I use a poison glass sword and dragon sheild (legendary), full legendary dragon heavy armor and my health bar goes poof. I'm sick of these dragons and I sort of resent the "stop fast traveling". It's an option in the game, I should be allowed to use it. I find it unenjoyable to explore because I can't go anywhere without 15 potions and 30 poisons in case of an Elder dragon dropping down on me.

I dunno, maybe I'm missing something but this is getting annoying and there's no remedy for console guys, it's not right. Why write an entire main quest centered around Dragons and after you beat it, they're still an issue?

I really don't get it. The dragon fights, even the random ones, are the best part of the game for me.

I literally start jumping for joy.

I hardly ever see dragons, then again i dont fast travel either. So for me they are what dragons should be. Oh [censored] moments. Maybe its because i dont power level smithing and enchanting, or maybe its because i play on master, but regular dragons kick my ass for quite a while, and then harder dragons come, and then harder ones. I havn't gotten to level 50 yet but thats just cause i got a new computer but anyway so far they've always been oh [censored] moments. well except when Shadowmere runs 10 miles away and the dumb ass chases him. Then again im never uses Shadowmere again so it should be all good.

to the bolded part, I did not. I was not under the impression that dragons would become a permanent part of my Skyrim experience, especially since you're required to discover every cave, dungeon, farm, or fort, many times, not having any other landmark that you can fast travel to.

And why the fast travel hate on this site?
