Honestly Skyrim is their most playable game (on release) to date
I've not once ran into any bugs that flat out ruined the experience for me or caused issues - which totally owns the completely unstable mess Fallout 3 was and Morrowind. Oblivion at least had some level of stability compaired to those two, but it still had issues to the point where I can't honestly play without heavy patches and mods.
Skryim on the other hand doesn't give me any compulsions to stop playing until patches/mods are released. Sure there are things I want to change (see signautre) and mods I'd like to install and more patches - but it doesn't seem as urgent as their previous releases.
Well I would agree to a point, but to me Oblivion was the most stable(I didn't buy FO3 on PC so can't comment on that and FO:NV wasn't Bethesda). Yes Oblivion had a lot of bugs, but I never had any crashes in it, but I do have crashes in Skyrim (granted it was only a crash every two hours or so), those went away completely though with the LAA patch but since I logged back into Steam to play with friends on Killing Floor, since I couldn't disable auto patching I'm back to the current patch and the "built-in" LAA that Bethesda put in does not work as great as the unoffical one, I now get crashes again, though only if I play for around 4-5 hours.
I have been lucky with my issues though, just the CTD issue and that is rare, and I had once had purple textures.
Friend of mine with an i7-2600k and a GTX580 can't play without crashing every 30 minutes and it's an IT indiviual. (very similar setup to mine except for the CPU/GPU, yep I'm cheap see sig)
Another one who has the PS3 played it for a while then suddenly graphics don't load at all, and he goes down to sub 10FPS after an hour in.
