Skyrim conspiracy. Hinting at DLC?

Post » Thu Jun 07, 2012 10:39 am

A prince can be summoned by a single person, rather easily. No need to do all of this, even binding a Prince to nirn is easier then this (see trial of Vivec)
Probaly, another form of Obvilion gate? i think that this can be just an unmarked quest too.

Looks like an unfinished quest to me, that is all.
There are plenty of example of quests that are half done or havent had a narritive done in prevoius tes/fo games, but with all the who har im thinking you may get your wish in a dlc. lol bug jar conspirices, some how i think any master plan that transends time wouldnt be displayed on the lids of bug jars...its the medievil aquivilant of promotion codes under the ringpull/bottlecap lol.

Oblivion gates have been closed by Akatosh after the events of Oblivion. They won't open again, at least not in the same form. A gate can still open of course (see Shivering Isles) but that will be an entrance only, not an exit. Equally important, I don't think the Altmer have a reason to want a Daedric gate to open or any Daedric prince to enter Nirn... They have absolutely no affiliation with Daedra and wouldn't use them as anything but a fighting force. You can summon Daedra by words however, and you can't bind a prince to your will. Nobody is that powerful, not even the Tribunal was that powerful. To summon lesser Daedra you don't have to use something as strange as this and if you did they could have done it somewhere else. Somewhere the entire nation doesn't hate them.

Personally if all conclusions drawn on that site are right, I'd still say it's more likely that this an easteregg of sorts, or if not then just a quest that they started planning and then quit.

FMA? Im thinking the Thalmor are trying to open Hell's Gate and free a [censored] ton of demons daedra, coming closer to eventually freeing lucifer a Daedric Prince.

Obviously at the middle of the Pentagram in an Old cemetery where the mind-controlled Thalmor open up the gate using Samuel Colt's legendary Bow. Then, while Dovahkiin tries to fight off Gandalf, Dovahkiin's father Jambi the Genie comes out and holds Gandalf down while Dovahkiin finally kills Gandlaf with The Bow.

Unfinished quest is probably the most likely explanation, but Occam's Razor be damned - I love a good conspiracy! :D

The eye of Mangus is not in Skyrim anymore, and it's doubtful that it would have the power to destroy an entire race at once. There is just one thing that's powerful enough to do that. The Heart of Lorkhan, now even assuming the Heart is in Skyrim which I find unlikely, then they would still need the profane tools to manipulate it.

And we know that they don't have all three of those things, the likelyhood of them actually manipulating the heart in another way is incredibly small. Not to mention that the study required for something like that would take a great many years with access to the heart.

I'm not considering the Heart is in their sight or desires. I believe something equal, although unknown to most, is nearly within their grasp.

On what this is exactly- I would not know. Although it could be possible this object-artifact would owe it's origins from the dragon ruled era.
The era to which is relatively still has enough unknowns and confusion for an artifact of power to be left obscured within the history books.
Or like the Heart of Lorkhan and the dwemer, the thalmor simply stumbled upon something new. Some undisturbed piece of an aedra.

To the matter of them having the knowledge to manipulate such an artifact. Well going off the speculation that the thalmor already have foreknowledge of it,
the possibility of them already being within sight and study of it is high. What would be unknown is for how long. So when did the thalmor start
their small occupation in Skyrim? was it after the Markarth incident? if we took their occupation as a starting point and compared it to the current date,
then one might have something to go off. Comparing this to the length of time the dwemer took to study the heart of lorkhan would be reasonable.

If everything looks to check out then I don't see it as a problem for it to be a possibility in a dlc.

Well there is one mayor problem with it. Assuming that the Eye of Magnus was actually the EYE OF MAGNUS then it would be an incredibly powerful artifact. As Magnus is basically the reason for Magic on Nirn, yet it would not be as powerful as the Heart of Lorkhan which is basically the anchor holding the world together. There is nothing on Nirn as powerful as the Heart, and we know you don't manipulate the heart in that way.

I can't think of anything else in Skyrim or Nirn, that would justify something like this being build by the Thalmor... Let alone stand something that could actually end all men, not unless they remade the Numidian and brought it there, but even if that's true then still they wouldn't have a source to power it and it would be an incredibly illogical place to bring the thing. (Also, more importantly impossible).

Just a nice tidbit: on that Reddit thread, someone points out that in that museum where you get the Mehrunes Razor quest, there is a map of Skyrim with a pentagram in a circle drawn on it, with the Empire/dragon symbol in the centre of the map. Can't confirm as I haven't been inside there yet - but that's kind of cool if it's true.

[Edit] In the spoiler is a ridiculously long copypasta from Reddit which is another theory on a DLC where the Thalmor are conspiring to destroy pretty much everything. I'm no lore buff but maybe some of you would have fun reading/disputing it.

Spoiler
So I've done some more digging, and was wondering the meaning behind "Weynon" stones. So I went there IG, I've seen the place before and disregarded it for an abandoned Talos shrine. But then I remembered the name in oblivion of the village where the blades are protecting Martin Septim (Weynon Priory). So I decide to go on a hunt in the Imperial Library and find THIS BOOK which we stumble on at the very beginning of the game.
I start reading, the first part is somewhat irrelevant but ending is not:

I leave you with what is known as "The Prophecy of the Dragonborn". It often said to originate in an Elder Scroll, although it is sometimes also attributed to the ancient Akaviri. Many have attempted to decipher it, and many have also believed that its omens had been fulfilled and that the advent of the "Last Dragonborn" was at hand. I make no claims as an interpreter of prophecy, but it does suggest that the true significance of Akatosh's gift to mortalkind has yet to be fully understood.
When misrule takes its place at the eight corners of the world
When the Brass Tower walks and Time is reshaped
When the thrice-blessed fail and the Red Tower trembles
When the Dragonborn Ruler loses his throne, and the White Tower falls
When the Snow Tower lies sundered, kingless, bleeding
The World-Eater wakes, and the Wheel turns upon the Last Dragonborn.

At first, I was perplexed by this "Brass tower" so I did some research and found this forum:
http://www.ulthuan.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=37245&start=30
And this mother [censored] genius wrote a long-ass post that totally enlightened me. I WANT to try to summarize it, but if you've made it this far, just go [censored] read it, it's mind blowing.
I'll jump to the most relevant parts.

Talos might be reborn or "mantling" Lorkhan - who died giving birth to Nirn
The Cyrodiilic culture calls him [- Lorkhan - ] Shezarr, The Missing God, reflecting the fact that he alone of the Aedra has truly died and vanished.
The Thalmor are really evil/selfish. More so than we all thought before, they're the pinnacle of evil and they effectively want to eradicate men.
"To kill Man is to reach Heaven, from where we came before the Doom Drum's iniquity. When we accomplish this, we can escape the mockery and long shame of the Material Prison.

To achieve this goal, we must:
1) Erase the Upstart Talos from the mythic. His presence fortifies the Wheel of the Convention, and binds our souls to this plane.
2) Remove Man not just from the world, but from the Pattern of Possibility, so that the very idea of them can be forgotten and thereby never again repeated.
3) With Talos and the Sons of Talos removed, the Dragon will become ours to unbind. The world of mortals will be over. The Dragon will uncoil his hold on the stagnancy of linear time and move as Free Serpent again, moving through the Aether without measure or burden, spilling time along the innumerable roads we once travelled. And with that we will regain the mantle of the imperishable spirit."

What PREVENTS them from doing so are the eight towers:

Cystal Tower (destroyed during oblivion - need citation - also referred to as Crystal-Like-Law)
Red Tower is deactivated (the Stone - the Heart of Lorkhan - has been freed per the events of Morrowind)
Tree-Sap is potentially deactivated or at least not walking around (the Bosmer are influenced by the Thalmor, and they'd want to deactivate it if possible)
Orchalc is destroyed (back with Yokuda)
White-Gold is deactivated (the Amulet of Kings served as the key, and it is no longer active)
Khajit Tower probably shut down (the Khajit are vassals of the Thalmor, and if they are indeed the Stone of their own Tower as per the Lunar Lattice then their Tower is also deactivated)

AND THE MOST IMPORTANT TWO:

Brass Tower (cast out of Time, doing something weird, but then it breaks time every time you turn it on, so that's understandable) - This relates to [The Ancient Nords using the elder scroll to banish Alduin from the realm of men, it essentially fractured time and simply delaying Alduin's return] and NUMIDIUM the "brass god" which in turn, relates to the mysterious disappearance of the Dwemer. My best guess to explain both the disappearance of the tower AND the Dwemer, is that they attempted to activate it in order to gain control over Numidium, but got banished from Mundus - Alduin style. This implies the Dwemer might come back.

Snow Throat - Throat of the world - STILL ACTIVE and protected by Parrthurnax/High Hrothgar and the greybeards.
That's why the Thalmor/Altmer are so interested in Skyrim, and in damaging the Empire's attempts to keep it peaceful. If they can break it, or break the Stone that binds Snow-Throat Tower, then they can bring down what is effectively the last pillar. Then, they will be free to fully unbind the Dragon. Mundus will dissolve, everything within it will cease to exist. Except for the Altmer and other "divine spirits" who were originally bound with the binding of Lorkhan. They will be freed, resuming the connection to the divine that they possessed before Time.
Also, "Weynon Stones" is most likely something in relation to the "stone that binds Snow-Throat".

TL;DR:
This little "translation" turned out in a full-out lore-vestigation which was extremely interesting, and not yet done. My guess is that there's nothing (content wise) about those runes, but will be a critical part of future DLC. On DLC - the WHITE-GOLD tower is part of the imperial city, and it's been rendered in the game. Which simply adds to this whole "mess". http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WmzXJn5Wxsg
TL;DR (really): Basically, epic adventures to defend Nirn against evil Thalmor to come in DLC.

The Thalmor do want to destroy everything... Or rather return to a time before creation. This is not inconsistent, but unlikely to play out during a DLC...

Hang on. If the Thalmor want the end of Man. What about other races like Khajiits and Argonians? Also what about the Wood Elves (Bosmer) and Dunmer? I know the Bosmer homeland is part of the Dominion but what about the Dunmer?
