Staff of Magnus? : V - Skyrim

The Staff of Magnus is a required item for a few of the COW radiant quests that are given by Tolfdir.

That isn't true in my experience. Yes it says to bring the Staff with you but you can still complete the quests without the staff. That was on my first character however so perhaps they changed it at some point, but it certainly didn't use to be a required item.

I disagree. Alteration is awesome. It's the best tree for spellswords. Oakflesh and Stoneflesh are very helpful for low level. Paralysis is worth the whole tree by itself. Also alteration is super useful for the 30% magic resistance perk. 3 perks for 30%? Yes please.
