All I Want Is The Ability To Become A Ghoul

No. If the game is still Fallout, then people hate ghouls. That would mean rewriting and rerecording most dialogue and the storyline, which they can't.

Just so you know, it would be extremely difficult to make a Fallout title with ghouls as a playable race. Bioware, who once made a game with acceptable writing, failed amusingly in that department with DA:O.

Fixed.

This honestly couldn't happen without committing huge amount of time and resources to it (writing new dialogue) or without it feeling like a tacked-on gimmick.

-Real 3d
-visceral combat experience
-choice(s) with consequence
-play as a ghoul this time around
-next-gen
-etc...
-I think I've made my point

What is there in ghoulification that makes it so wanted feature? If it doesn't have some significant gameplay impacts other than skin color and slightly adjusted dialog options, it's - imo - just a waste of developement time. And with the time Obs has, I'd rather they focused on polishing the core elements instead of tacking in some fruitless features like that.

Just my 0.5 cents.

Good points. Though here's one or two advantages to being a ghoul:

-Automatically get an enhanced Cannibal Perk.
-Never attacked by Ghouls unless provoked.
-Possibly not attacked by Super Mutants (In FO3, a ghoul human mentioned they "leave us alone".
-As a Feral, you'd be an evil character, so anytime you enter a town, attack everyone as though you entered enemy territory. As a human Ghoul, there'd be some tolerance as in FO3.
-You could start out a normal human from the vault, but eventually change into a talking ghoul (radiation poisioning unchecked for too long).
-Unless you curb the radiation levels, you'd slowly change from 'human' ghoul, into a Feral Ghoul or a Swamp, Reaver Ghoul, etc., which would enhance your strength, but decrease your intelligence, making most weapons useless.

Beyond that though, being a ghoul is more of a novelty than a fully functional character, unless they change up the rules of what a feral ghoul could do.

It wouldn't be hard for them to take a ghoul human character and map those options into the create a character intro.

Alright. I'll point out, again, what everyone seems to be ignoring.

Are you listening? Good.

They will not allow ghoulification because it would cause them to have to write, nearly, an entirely different storyline for all the conversations, quests, factions, to reflect this. This would take HUGE amounts of work, and take away work from other parts of the game. So please stop telling them to ignore the rest of the game so you can have green skin. Get a damn sharpie and color your television green or change your RGB on your television, but stop asking Black Isle to drop their work on finishing the game and accede to your damn nagging about green skin and radiation healing.

NOW HUSH

This would work best in an action-platformer with some RPG elements (upgrades), where you could do some acrobatics, and once in a while you would turn feral for a short while, giving you super strength and speed, letting you hurl slime balls. The story would be fighting for ghouls rights or something ridiculous like that.

Don't get why cannibalism would be enhance, nor why being feral automatically means you're evil (you're just more beastly, not less moral).

I'd play that, but it wouldn't really be "Fallout", just a small game based in the Fallout universe.

Feral, in the ghoul sense, means "Mindless".

Those are just the ones not locked. More about people wanting to be super mutant as well. Point is there are so many threads. I am sure by now everything on this subject has been said.

I've told one of the moderators before to pin a thread about a popular topic, that way we could avoid a crap load of "I wanna be ghoul in NV" or "CARS!" threads.
But they don't do it so this will continue to happen.

What do you want me to do next? Stop the Tides? Make the moon go Polar rather than Equatorial? Bring about World Peace?

Those are all attainable goals. What you ask for is a bit harder to do. Pinning the thread is the easy part. However since people ignore those too, maybe I will just close this over moderated thread.
