I have no use for Magicka potions since I don't use spells.

the list of potions I do use is much shorter than a list of ones I don't use.
I use black smithing potions and I used to use health and stamina potions but there is no need anymore

I've used some health potions near the beginning of the game, but that was it.
If I had to pick which potions seemed the least useful it might be stamina potions.

My "warriors" almost only use healing types of formulas. They may make their own combo fo Fortify Health + Restore Health. This along with the most powerful basic healing potions they can find are useful.

My "naked" Nord uses a much wider variety of forumlas including the magica restore, magica fortification, +carry weight, +stealth, etc.

Even then I almost never restore stamina and I only rarely use poisons.

Same here. Also, I sell most stamina potions I find.

I tend to use resistance potions because they help on master against magic. Healing potions also, and cure disease. I had perked alchemy and while its true that you cant make ultimate healing pots, you can make quiet a few multi-effect potions which can be handy when your character uses different roles together (ie healing/mana for spellsword or invisible/muffle for a thief).

Plus they are worth a fortune at a trader so its an endless money stream.

I don't use any that aren't restoration potions or cure disease potions.

Alchemical effects have been gutted, to the point where nearly all potions are generic stat modifiers. In Oblivion, I could make potions of light!

A lot of the alchemical effects went in to poisons but they are so underwhelming and so uneccesary it was rather pointless to do so. They need beefing up a bit to make them more atractive and with more varied effects. Its annoying as hell that many reagents share almost identical properties to each other, it means certain ones you actually want are always the ones in short supply, because they are also used in other potions you require (ie blisterwart {sp?})

It should have been bloody simple to make nearly everything have 2 good effects and 2 bad effects to balance the system and make sure they dont cross over to much. But whomever was in charge of this just didnt think it through properly imo.
