After defeating Alduin, another war will erupt between the Thalmor and human nations.
204- The Dragonborn successfully negotiates Hammerfells reconciliation with the Empire
205- The Dragonborn rides to the White Gold Tower of the Imperial City and strides right into the Thalmor Embassy along with the Emperor and a dozen soldiers. Holding a few bloodied bags, he says to the ambassador "I thought I might give you these, that every deed be reciprocated in kind" and then drops them onto the table, revealing the heads of every Thalmor agent in Skyrim along with Elenwen. War is declared that day against the Thalmor
206- The War of Ascension begins with the Battle of Jerall Mountain. The Aldmeri army is decimated when the Dragonborn uses his Thu'um to start an avalanche.
207- Battle of Alik'r Desert. A second army attempts to isolate Hammerfell from the other nations, cutting off support. The Thalmor army under General Falindil are flanked by alik'r cavalry and hit by a massive sandstorm. A lack of supplies, harsh weather, and constant hit-and-run tactics demoralizes the army so much that they mutiny, kill the General, and surrender.
209- Sacking of White Gold Tower. Led by the Dragonborn and the Emperor, the Imperial Legion clashes with the Thalmor in an open field near the Imperial City. The Dragonborns shouts and the ferocity of the nordic knights forces the Dominion to fall back to the City, but the gate door is blown apart by the Thu'um. At this point, the Thalmor are down to 1/3 of their standing forces
210- Siege of Bravil. Commander Alinhael of the Aldmeri army surrenders the city after 2 weeks of freak storms batters his supply ships.
212- Battle of the West Weald (Also known as the Battle of Sigrid River). This is the final battle of the war. The Thalmor, incensed with their losses, regroups their forces and attempts to push into Cyrodiil in 2 directions; a navy fleet from the southwest, and a marching army from Valenwood. The Emperor and his forces wait at the bottom of the Sigrid River (they've had a large spell of water breathing cast upon them), and then take several of the ships by surprise, turning them onto the rest of the fleet.
Meanwhile, the army of High Commander Hafeandir meets the Imperial Legion under the command of the Dragonborn. They exchange words in parley (no records) and eventually do battle. At first, the Aldmeri Army holds the advantage, outnumbering the legionarres 2:1. But then at an unknown signal, a cavalry identified as the Knights of the Nine attacks from the east, rallying the Legion and healing the wounded. Hafeandir was personally slain by the Dragonborn, his body left to hang on the largest tree in the forest.
The Aldmeri Dominion surrenders days after, relinquishing control of Elsweyr but maintaining autonomy of Valenwood and Alinor. The Talos ban is officially lifted, though many had already resumed worship once the war started. The Justiciars are disbanded, and the Council that rules over the Dominion is put on trial. Of the 23 tried, 13 are sentenced to death for the "purges" that occured 200 years earlier. Only 3 are declared innocent, and 2 are assassinated. The rest are sentenced to life inprisonment. The Legion, battered, but victorious, maintains a presense in Valenwood and Alinor, vigilant and aware that peace is earned and maintaned, not won and guaranteed.
As for the Dragonborn, his final destiny awaits him in the Priory of the Nine, where he lives the remainder of his days, like his great-grandfather before him, until at last Talos the Ascended takes him up to the glory of Aetherius, where the saints and gods dwell.
