I was once playing Skyrim and forgot about Real life

Post » Fri Jun 08, 2012 8:47 am

I was in the middle of playing skyrim and I went into a cave, there was a loading and I was like "whats this? OH WHAT! I FORGOT REAL LIFE EXISTED!" And then I realized how much life svcked compared to skyrim, I for once wanted to BE my character

Well, I guess a man can dream...

I'm not sure I want to BE my character (he's kinda ugly and I am ugly enough!). But, your point is well-taken. One can escape from any other pressures of daily life, finally look at a clock and realize three or four hours have shot by.

I surely would not want to live in skyrim, everyone is SO ugly >_< . lol. They fell down the ugly tree, hit every branch on the way down, bounced off a trampoline, and repeat >_<.

I think about how many times my character has died... Probably wouldn't want to live in Skyrim. But it's amazing how when you're playing your brain shuts down - Video games in general - my roommate in college didn't realize he had flunked out of school because of Diablo.

Yeah, that tends to happen. I forget about the real world most of the time when playing Skyrim.

I would hate to be my character personally, Always getting attacked by every living thing, having to listen to Arnold Schwarzenegger's voice from every guard, Not to mention the intense cold, Heavy armor, I mean wow, It would be painful! Haha, And no im not flaming about the game, I love it :D

I'd love to be in Skyrim... But if it were really me there, I'd want to be in god mode.

Immersion and distraction are certainly a huge draw for people with games like this. They are for me. And once long ago, they were a HUGE draw for me to escape my svcky life. But like anything, it can become an addiction (like your roommate). One must learn balance in life. Gaming is PART of my life. It isn't ALL of my life. I set boundaries for myself. For me, weekend DAYS is my game time WHEN I'm not doing anything else with friends or family.

But even I have to admit: being rich and famous just for doing good deeds is pretty awesome compared to real life. :tes:

I'd sure like it.

A hunter in a small community where everyone knows each other?
Capitalism forces us to have boring and stressful lives in order to survive
At least in this medieval setting, things are more simplistic

Haha me too my friend. I'd probably live in Riverwood and create a little skooma den under my house.

My life is good and all but nowadays even if you want to be a warrior, war pretty much svcks. That is why being a warrior in skyrim is fun. By warrior I mean a fighter doesn't matter if he is a mage or an archer etc. Sometimes when I close my eyes in bed I dream of living in skyrim. I ask god to put me there and no matter how tough it will be, how the realism of our world will transfer into skyrim, I'd rather be in skyrim. I try to believe so hard that I will awake in skyrim like if it was some kind of Narnia... without of a way out. TES is the best franchise. If I only could...
