Let me explain, besides the armor/weapon look and the slight increase in defense, the perks are useless, sure the Orc chest armor possess 6 more point in defense than it's Darwen counterpart but by the time you reach 50+ in the Smithing skill and upgrade your armors in the workbench that difference won't matter anymore...
So I was thinking about those good old Fallout 3 and New Vegas and their armors with bonuses, wouldn't adding some sort of bonus for each set make them more worth than what they are now? imagine for example a full set of Wolf armor giving +5% Crit chance or the Draedric armor giving a constant Damage DOT, and things like that... Hell, I remember someone else who was disappointed with the Dragon armors and suggested giving them a Shout reduction bonus, pretty good idea in my book.
As of right now, my newest sword & shield dude will only have one point in steel and nothing else since it will cap the maximum armor rating later on.
