I buy at least half of the RPGs that come out. I guess it's one of my favorite genres, besides driving and adventure titles.

I have played since Arena and Bethesda is one of the very few game company's that I don't have to question and I don't have to wait for others to play it to know if it's good. I know it's good. I trust Bethesda to make a quality game with hundreds of hours and infinite replay ability. I also expected it to be buggy but I don't care, it's a great game.

I do agree that it's blasphemy to not play the other games first but I can't argue with these halo and modern warfare players.

The only TES game I ever played, truthfully, was Elder Scrolls 4. (I really like FNV more than FO3,) So, why did I buy Skyrim? Perhaps I purchased it because I played Dragon Age Origin to death, maybe? Or, perhaps it was because I was so disappointed in Dragon Age 2? (What has drawn me to DAO so intently was and is its advlt theme. That being said, I think Skyrim's marriage theme is totally childish and perhaps even stupid. But hey, there's a whole lot of seemingly mundane space and dungeons to explore, after the main quest line.) Still, something keeps me going back to Dragon Age Origins?!?

I bought it because experience playing Bethesda's games since the mid-90s tells me they're awesome. Skyrim, for all its flaws, is also awesome, just like the other TES games.

I bought Skyrim because I'm a fan of the series, despite the games being consistently buggy, and this is the new entry.

I like that I can get lost in the games and explore to my heart's content and not feel like I'm playing an interactive book, where I'm merely moving my character from point A to point B, as if I'm turning the next page in the story. Rather than reading about a character in a book or seeing a movie, I want to feel like I am the character in the story, and the Elder Scrolls games give me that feeling.
