Maiq has expressed concern about all the fur Nords put on their armor...

Most of the armors, regardless of the material, seem to be made in a Nordic style. Exceptions include Imperial armor and elven armor. And Daedric.

Imperial (legion armor)
Nord (iron and steel/plate/scale)
Orc (orcish)
High Elf (elven)
Dunmer (ebony and glass are of dunmer style IIRC)
Redguard (not really armor, but they have clothes based on their culture. Hammerfell Garb and Alik'r Hood)

So half of the races have armor tied to them.

It was speculated that each race would have it's own unique armour, nothing more.

You can't really call Forsworn armour Breton.

Well, in that case you can't really call Alik'r Redguard. The Forsworn are Manmer native to The Reach, and it is the closest we come Breton armour.

Maybe the other races don't produce armor and just import them.

Yeah, I'm expecting all the Khajiit-fans/furries to start showing up and venting outrage... :ahhh:

Hey, if some imperial wants a khajiit fur rug, it's only fair that my khajiit gets a human leather jacket

Exactly.

Scale - Argonian
Fur - Khajiit
Ebony, Glass - Dunmer.

I would've liked to see some Argonian/Khajiit armor, but then again those two races aren't common in Skyrim and they might not have easy access to the materials they need to make their armor anyway.

No, I see what he's saying. You're quite right that they're not at all modeled after SS uniforms, but the whole thing of them being essentially a party that took control of their society and having what are basically secret police/security/military forces to hunt down a segment of a not-exactly-conquered-but-still-dominated foreign society in obedience to their ideology...well, with the uniforms being black on top of that, the comparison to the SS does bear weight despite Thalmor robes not being directly visually modeled on SS uniforms.

Once you reach a certain level, some Thalmor soldiers wear glass armor. I like to consider them as officer's, while the enlisted wear standard Elven.

The Thalmor inquisitors may also be "officers", but during the great war, I'd assume that officers in the regular Aldmeri legions wore armor instead of robes.

But that's armor made from dragons, not armor made by dragons.

What would that be like for "elven" and "orcish" armor?

I want some Thalmor Hide armour.
